Pretty sure my co-worker is literally mad at me because I don't want an iPhone.

I have a Blackberry 9700. It's the second one I've had, I upgraded from the 9000.

He asked me what reasons I could possibly have for not wanting to "upgrade" to an iPhone.

I gave him my 4 personal reasons. He only thought #4 was valid.

- I like my keyboard and don't care for touch screens
- I don't care much for Apple. I do have an iPod, but Apple annoys me for some reason
- I get sentimental and attached to inanimate objects like phones
- my monthly bill for my bb is less than $50 and with the iPhone it would be 80

Do people really get angry at others for not wanting an iPhone? 0_0

He's right though. You're #2 would be right too if you used the right words to correctly hate on Apples behavior. But ultimately iPhone is the "best" phone out there on the worst network. For the record I have an HTC EVO, but I do appreciate the iPhone 4's build and aesthetic qualities.

the funny part to me is how emotionally tied nerds are over a particular brand. ati/nv, intel/amd, mac/pc/linux, android/apple/bb, whatever.

i've got a galaxy s. i like it, don't really use gps, good screen, swype is cool and fast, so it works for me.

Reasons 1 and 4 seem perfectly valid to me. 2 and 3 are probably just as bad as the Apple Sheeple :p.

I bought a 3Gs when there really weren't any other good phones on the market that offered the same features (mostly the apps). Now with Android's popularity and the fact that a lot of high end app makers (Gameloft, Chillingo, etc) are branching out to other platforms, it removes the need to stick with iOS for the good exclusives.

My contract is up in February and I'll most likely look to switch over to something else. I have a decent amount of apps on my iPhone, but nothing that I can't really replace or still use.

i have an iphone and i dont' give a fuck what kinda phone my friend uses

the only thing that pisses me off is when friends rail on the iphone and then ask to borrow mine so they can check espn scores.

3gs and I are inseparable. I previously hated most phones, preferring those with a real KB for at least texting to be easier (damn I hated abc def texting) My wife had a 3g and moved to a 4. Her mother and her both have IP4's and facetime all night long like schoolgirls. Her mother is not a spring chicken, and previously hated all phones.

I also think your #1-3 are weak, 4 is a real concern, but in our case, with 3 iphones on the family plan it turned out cheaper than 3 diff companies and plans.

Moose is right on - Sure you don't need to upgrade, because upgrading is pointless. BB reached the end of its innovative life 5 years back. Its a dead platform.

Cliffs: 2 unlikely people are converts over here.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand into the RDF we go. :awe:

People are proud of their desicions, and get angry if they're not seen as correct. We see it all the time here on the forums.

"What do you mean you don't do the same thing I do???!!! You're wrong and you're an idiot!!!!"
