I

I do enjoy my ipod

That's not to say there aren't better alternatives :awe:

Fwiw, it was free. LOL

I understand the "I don't like Apple" mentality, because I would never buy their computers or spend money on OSX to run it on my Hackintosh since they wouldn't support it - but their iDevices are > * and thats why they win.

iPhone > *

Also, BB's are terrible and RIM will see its demise soon

People get mad at me all the time when I try to explain that I dont need any fancy smart phone to conduct my daily life. I have a basic, utilitarian cell phone. It barely has onboard camera which I never use but there just weren't any models at the time without it. I make calls and I read/write texts. That is all I need it for and that is all I do. I spend about $50 per year on it.

Then I talk to guys who got iPhones, droids, etc... who gloat about their fancy devices and tell me I should get them but when I refuse and show no interest they get mad. And when I try to explain my reasons they get even more mad. It's like they need to connect with other people who spend as much as they do on this shit to make them feel better. I'd feel like a total tard spending so much money on that shit.

Tell him that Chuck Norris doesn't use an iPhone for the same reasons he doesn't use tampons.

I agree that those people shouldn't be mad, but by the same token, it sounds like you haven't used a smartphone before.

Maybe you're happy with doing it the old way and that's totally fine, but others who are willing to pay the premium like to organize their life with one central device. Eventually everyone is going to have a smartphone.

Once my contract is up on my iPhone in June, I'll be looking elsewhere. It's novelty has worn off for me and I want a cheaper monthly plan.

I'm quite content to spend $25/month for unlimited data/text and 300 minutes on my Android phone on Virgin Mobile. Sure its not the fanciest and it is a bit slow sometimes. But it does at least 80% of what the iPhone can do (and due to Android, a number of things iPhone can't). Oh, and I'm saving $55+ a month, that's a nice chunk of change right there.
Oh, and I can tether.

Owning a galaxy s makes dealing with isheep a lot easier. When they ask me why I don't have an iphone I just show them an aquarium live wallpaper running on my phone's super amoled screen and they shut up pretty quickly.

I just dropped ATT and their stupid iPhone 3G. Picked up HTC Desire (Android) and Cellular South. Saving $40/mo with a better plan and awesome phone.

Cliffnotes: Apple sucks balls.

...And then when you need to find a restaurant your GPS can't locate you. :p

There are pluses and minuses to all smartphones. As far as I can tell the GalaxyS and iPhone4 are considered in the same bracket of high end phones.

Other carriers aren't that much cheaper, if not more. I think Tmobile has the cheapest data plan.

- I like my keyboard and don't care for touch screens
- I don't care much for Apple. I do have an iPod, but Apple annoys me for some reason
- I get sentimental and attached to inanimate objects like phones
- my monthly bill for my bb is less than $50 and with the iPhone it would be 80

Excuses 2 and 3 are only there to justify it in your own mind because Excuse 1 is because you have fat fingers and Excuse 4 means your poor.

I'm angry I have to have an iphone from work, I don't have any say in another phone... but then again I don't pay for it either. I'd rather be on Verizon with whatever the newest Droid phone happens to be.

The gps works well enough for that. Not that I have ever needed my phone to tell me how to find a restaurant in the first place. Living in the same area for 20 years does have its advantages. :)

But I don't want a different smartphone :colbert:

I use it for bbm, internet, email and twitter

Can u upgrade storage on an iphone? What if I want to put in a new battery? :colbert:

Don't need more than 32gb. I can add a battery pack(in case form or add-on) and not have to power-off/on my phone like everyone else.

And I would LOL in your face.

I'd probably have an iPhone if it were on Sprint. The carrying cost for an iPhone over an EVO is just astronomical over the life of a contract when comparing the two carriers.

Meh, I still have my Razr, I don't even have a need for a smartphone. I spend the whole day around computers, I want less technology in my pocket. I also don't want to get emails on my phone, my phone is for talking.

Same here, got me an A900. Been tethering for 4 years now. :)

This sounds great! I wonder if I could stick one of their SIM cards in my Tour. Would be nice to pay less than a third of what I pay on Verizon.

Virgin Mobile is a subsidy of Sprint (you get the same coverage, minus roaming) and uses CDMA, so no sim cards. And only Virgin Mobile branded phones too. Which kinda sucks, but they do offer a blackberry and an android phone, so its not too bad.
And for $25/month (less if you buy your refill cards online. I get mine for about $24) you really can't complain

The Droid I have does exactly what I need and want. I also like the look. It's really that simple.

i have 110 gigs of music and i HAVE to have it with me at all times

Well then, there isn't a phone out there for you bub.

32gb is the biggest they make and 64gb might be available soon for like $200

So the 48gb you would get in a Droid is the max any way counting the 16 internal.

EDIT: Yea I guess they are finally out only $240-350 over the cost of your $200-300 Droid phone.

And its apple thats ridiculously expensive, right?
