iPhone 7

Apple has been tweeting out iPhone 7 info. It is officially labeled "water resistant".
I'll have to see what that actually means I guess during this presentation.

Eug, that a fake screen shot? They don't have that posted, or anything at all, on Twitter.

The amount of time they're spending on Pokemon Go is ridiculous. I'm assuming they will save the worst for last (no headphone jack + annoying dongle bundle).

Am I missing a thread somewhere or is this really what an Apple key note discussion looks like here now? Not sure if it's 'here' as much as just the general response to these things overall now.

Well AT forums are on the decline and there's overall a lot less traffic than usual now a days.

Also I don't think anyone on here really cares about the Apple Watch and/or Pokemon and Mario on iOS.

Since Jobs died, everything has been either an iterative upgrade or a me-too product (re: Apple Watch, plus the ATV upgrades). Not much to get excited about imo. iMacs are cool with the 5K screens, but hardware-wise, you can build a Hackintosh for dirt cheap that is nearly 100% compatible & super easy to setup...last time I built one for home use was in like 2011...still working great (i5 + 10gb RAM + SSD...5 years old & rock solid!).

But anyway...they should have released some kind of awesome gaming system for the ATV. Plus done integrated wireless charging along with wireless earbuds. Stuff like that. I think at this point the only Apple product I own is an iPhone.

That was a screen shot posted by a Mac site. They said it was on twitter and then was immediately deleted.

Anyhoo, it looks like I'll be buying a silver iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB.

Glad they upped the storage, but I'll be keeping my iPhone 6 for another year. It looks the same and 899$ for the cheapest model in Canada, so overpriced for what it is.

Was wondering if they'd change the 5se at all or maybe see how pricing was impacted due to 6s imminent drop, but didn't see any info on it.

I like it. Especially the extra CPU power and the redesigned home button. I think the jet black is slick as hell but yes it will be a fingerprint magnet.

IP67 is a bonus I don't need but am glad to take.

Did they say what the subsidized prices are for the carriers when you have an upgrade available? I just realized I have an upgrade available on Verizon as of today since I upgraded to the IP6 when it came out 2 years ago.

IMO these phones will not sell well. (relative to their usual sales). They're completely underwhelming to me. Clearly they are amping up for next year but they need to be careful not to lose marketshare in the meantime. They got a good break with the Note 7 recall though. Samsung must be kicking themselves.

This is pretty much the narrative on these forums EVERY release of the new iPhone.

Both my wife and I are using 32 GB 5S models, and the constant battle to free up storage space is pushing me to upgrade. I have a pretty decent loyalty plan with my cellular carrier and to continue to use said plan, I'll have to buy my phones outright. The total price for two iPhone 7 Plus 256 GB is going to cost me $2800 after taxes. I can save about $600 if I step down to a 6S 128GB, but seeing that I keep my devices for at least three years, it's probably a wiser choice to get the 7 as it has decent amount of upgrades compared to the 6S.

But yeah, the Canadian dollar isn't what it was when I bought my 5S and it's definitely a lot of money to plunk down for sure. I'm not unhappy with the 5S and if it had more memory, I could probably eek out another year on it.

The funny thing is, this could drive sales of higher-priced models in Canada. If you're already dropping $900-plus on your phone, the gap between that and a $1,079 128GB iPhone 7 Plus suddenly doesn't seem large.

The usual. $199, $299, $399. The Apple Store app has all details.

Comes with the adapter in the box

yeah no.

I guess buy an android phone cause they aren't going to bring back the headphone port now. I imagine this won't be the only adapter out their either.

Uh oh. Everyone hates the new home button. I'll have to check this out in-store. If it is really bad, I'll have to think twice about buying.

Looks fine to me what's the problem? It's free.
You mean it is "free", not that it is free.

Why didn't they just have 2 ports instead of 1, now I bet someone will make something so you can charge at the same time you have headphones plugged in.
