I got my tracking number, but I can't even attempt to make changes to things until FedEx flags the delivery as going to me. Although, I'm not sure if they will since I combined line 1 and line 2 as I had issues with Verizon leaving my line 2 off with my iPhone 5. Anyway, it says that they'll deliver by 3PM, and FedEx tends to come around 8 AM. Albeit, that's probably on days that aren't nearly as busy!

yeah i can't make any changes to anything either, but that makes sense considering what the people at fedex told me about there being restrictions on it. maybe the day of delivery it will change.

I think, since it is next day, that it isn't officially shipped by FedEx until the 18th. My "ship date" says the 18th. They just got the package early, in my eyes. Perhaps, you can change it then?

my shipdate shows 9/16 so who knows.

this is my latest update lol.

3:10 pm At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
1:16 am At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ

and i'm in MD btw.

This is on my actual Verizon order:
Code:
Shipment Courier:FedEx
Shipment Description:OVERNIGHT SVC BY EOD
Shipment Date:09/18/2014
Status:Your order has been shipped.

But, this is where the package is on FedEx:
Code:
9/17/2014 - Wednesday
3:09 pm	At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
2:10 am	At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
9/16/2014 - Tuesday
3:27 pm	At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
1:29 am	At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
9/15/2014 - Monday
4:27 pm	At local FedEx facility NEWARK, NJ
1:20 pm	Arrived at FedEx location

I think FedEx and Verizon aren't officially shipping it until the 18th. FedEx just has possession of the package. They don't want to break the street date, likely.

ah i see what you mean. yeah my ship date, in my order history on verizon, shows shipdate of 9/18.

but if i look up my order via the preorder # and my last name, it shows ship date of 9/13 lol.

I am just guessing on that though. Could be that FedEx is just being sticklers about changing the delivery unless you're the shipper.

Mine arrived at FedEx's Fort Worth(DFW?) depot on 9/16. It left the Fort Worth(DFW?) depot today. Guess they are shifting it over to Dallas today and it will sit there until Friday morning.

Any idea if stores like best buy are going to get 6 Plusses in on launch day?

I'm betting lots of places will have them, just not for very long 🙂

I'm waiting til Nov to upgrade. That's my upgrade date anyway and I don't have to deal with all the crazies.

Every place is telling me that they expect none beyond their preorder allotment though the expect plenty of non-Plus iPhone 6 phones. I'm sure Apple Store will have some.

so i noticed now on my fedex delivery the "customize delivery" option is now available since my tracking history now shows "Shipment information sent to FedEx". however all of the options for the shipment are grayed out...

Got a text last night from TMo - supposedly mine is shipping to arrive by tomorrow, and they'll email me a tracking number. I don't know how they expect for it to arrive by tomorrow, unless they magically plan on upgrading the shipping to overnight. (Currently scheduled for UPS Ground) I can see myself tomorrow afternoon being completely useless if it does get here.

On a separate note - 6/6+ reviews have been rolling in. People are raving about it...apparently it's going to be a bad Christmas for Samsung: https://www.yahoo.com/tech/the-last-word-on-the-iphone-6-and-iphone-6-plus-97745097394.html

But, Samsung keeps playing all those commercials about how they had a big phone first and the iPhone is just a copy! Funny that Apple never has to make fun of other phones to sell theirs.

heh the android fanboy comments are hilarious. this one reads almost like the thread over in the mobile devices and gadgets thread...

The new phone is still missing a lot of features. A lot of intelligent smartphone users know this. The design looks so little in difference between 5 - 6 and copies the design of the pad - so much for creativity. The physical camera shouldn't even be called an upgrade - and it sticks out not only making it more susceptible to damage +looking uglier +it makes the phone technically thinker then stated. I would say the best specification for a phablet is the screen size and resolution - both are lacking in comparison to competitors. What is inside the phone that makes it better? Simplicity is another word for "lack of features." The battery is bigger then previous phones but it will have... "similar" life - Tim Cook. Compared to most competitors the battery life is a non-issue if it is replaceable - I predict that the phone will have many complaints about battery life as with the camera. I have nothing against the fruity company. My agenda is to make people aware that the fruity company has grossly misrepresented its products repeatedly. It makes their phones easily breakable and highly costly for repairs. The number one feature that differentiates its phone from competitors is the looks - the status symbol which will be covered by a case or risk repairs. I would love to buy the phone if it had a reasonable price. The lack of features, technology, creative generation design, and high cost is the worms in the apple.

But, Samsung keeps playing all those commercials about how they had a big phone first and the iPhone is just a copy! Funny that Apple never has to make fun of other phones to sell theirs.

i do find those commercials amusing. same with the microsoft ones.

apple marketing strategy = show the cool things your phone can do in real world application.

every other marketing strategy = show what your phone can do that the iphone can't do while poking fun at it.

As funny as it is laughing at Samsung's pathetic ads...Apple did it first with Mac/PC guy years back. It was funny at the time 🙂

The jealousy is rampant there. Pretty much every article posted says the camera is the best smartphone camera bar none...pixels are just one part of the story. 🙂 Along with rebuttal to the rest of it lol.

The Mac vs PC ads were already mentioned, but Apple has on numerous occasions poked fun at Android.

the android poking fun at apple ads are much better than the ones they used to have with the woman in skin tight outfits flipping around with electricity and shit all over the phone. those were some of the worst commercials for some of the new "powerful" phones when they came out.

the skintight outfit on the woman was not bad though.

oh, and those mac vs pc ads were just as bad as the current ones that poke fun. the only difference is that on the mac vs pc ads, the pc guy was a big nerd and the mac was a cool/hipster guy, and now on the android vs apple commercials, everyone is pretty much a cool/hipster person. they've alienated the nerds!

scratch that ... mac vs pc ads were worse. 2 words - justin long.

He was decent in Die Hard...but he still needs a haircut.

TMo said they were shipping orders out overnight - sweet! It had said "Backordered with no estimated delivery date" up until last night.

I just learned that rather than ordering me the 64 GB phone (iPhone 6, space gray, AT&T) I requested, my firm inadvertently ordered me a 128 GB model. Works for me, since they are paying! Should get it tomorrow.

When football started up I reconnected my antenna to watch the Sunday night game, and I was amazed how many times Samsung ran that commercial during the game. I think MS had some for Surface, which was funny because I thought they stopped selling those things.

I don't know about that. I think nerd when I read some dude pumping up android. And I mean read, since I don't know anyone that does that in real life, just on forums. They're like those people that always try to bring up Linux. Except after seeing the Samsung commercials, its not clear if they are going for envious or desperate nerds. And I dunno, quoting anonymous people on twitter to try to prove something seems lame. I'm surprised the quotes didn't include tags that said #eatadickapple #iphoneisgay #pleasebuyourphones.

yeah i meant more like android is trying to get out of the nerdy stereotype with the hipsters in the ads. i guess i said it really wrong huh heh.
