A mod didn't change it - at least not that I know of - and I didn't request that it be changed. The original poster changed it . As I recall, it didn't have profanity in it though... I'd have done something about that. Even when the mods change things, it says "last edited by <user>" so if I had done anything, then you'd see my name at the bottom of the first post.

You gotta admit thought the Android fans here are WAY WORSE.

Quick example:

To an Android fan, SGS2 selling a lot because it is the great / the best phone.
To an Apple fan, SGS2 selling a lot because it is a good phone.

To an Apple fan, IPhone 4S selling a lot because it is a great / best phone.
To an Android fan, IPhone 4S selling a lot because of herd mentality and "sheeple".

Apple fans will defend their purchase.
Android fans will defend their purchase AND attack Apple buyers.

Apple fans don't even need to attack Android and the Android fans flock in. Count the Apple bashing threads then count the Android bashing threads you'll see it.

Apple fans are happy with their device and don't care much about Android.
Android fans are happy with their device and consider anyone else wrong.

EDIT: by fan I don't mean everyone who prefers one over the other (I'm an Android fan), I mean the hardcore ones on this site.

Definitely expected iOS to see a bump once the 4S sales were added. However, there's a still quite a gap there (Android is at 46% and iOS at 30%). The first chart is sales, not marketshare.

What's really crazy is that in the recent sales graph, Windows Mobile sold more than WP7. o_O

It should be an even bigger gap. Consider all of the markets apple hasn't even touched.

-US tmobile customers
-Prepaid customers
-Low end market
-etc, etc, etc...

Android is anywhere and everywhere at every single price point imaginable. Apple is not.

Can you even get a prepaid dataplan? Even if you did how many people would pay $600 for a phone on prepaid? You can do that now and go month to month, but how many do that?

And there is no low end smartphone market. They all require the same plans costing you $2-3000 over 2 years. A $100 difference in up front cost is meaningless.
(besides there is the $0 iPhone 3GS for people who for some reason still want to save that 8% and get shitty phones)..

What are you talking about? You can get an unlocked android phone for insanely cheap prices in the prepaid market. You are completely ignoring the rest of the world. The US isn't the only place buying smartphones. Have you seen a cricket store before? Month to month contracts, android phones up the wazoo. Same with virgin mobile. Same with boost mobile.

You can get an android tablet for $100. granted its a piece of shit, but it adds to the ever so coveted 'market share' number.

There is a low end smartphone market. Android has close to 100% domination of this market.

What kind of android phone can you get for $100-200 off contract?! That must be some piece of shit! When even a $700 "flagship" phone has tons of issues.
I'll admit I'm not familiar with what kind of prepaid phones are out there.

And in Q3 2011 the best selling smartphones where:
  1. Apple iPhone 4
  2. Apple iPhone 3GS
  3. HTC EVO 4G
  4. Motorola Droid 3
  5. Samsung Intensity II

I have seen Atrix 1s go for that all the time. Dual core. Gig of RAM. High res display.

The reason it is only $200 or so off contract is because the Android market marches so quickly and it has been replaced by the Atrix 2 within a year.

we have $150 android pre-paids here and they are all junk. the people that sell them know the average and max data these things will eat and sell the right phone for the market
