iPhone jumped the shark. Samsung is going to clean up with people who were holding off buying waiting for the bigger screen.

I like the galaxy S2, but man I would feel dirty purchasing it. They are such an unimaginative, copycat company. They don't innovate at all.

I think a larger screen (4"+) would have sold a LOT of people on iPhone, myself included. That's one thing I cannot tolerate on my phone. Going from my 4" Inc 2 screen to my iPod touch, the difference is pretty big.

Yeah, I spend so much time browsing now, it would make a huge difference.

Yeah, I think I'm switching. No 4G would have been fine but I wanted a larger screen. I'm going to miss iTunes, iPhone integration with my car and my awesome alarm clock that has an iPhone dock.

I dont know what I am going to do. The Galaxy S2 looks pretty tempting...

And now you all know why Apple is trying to sue the shit out of Samsung and going after injunctions. They realized too little too late that they all of a sudden had an "inferior" product in terms of demand far too late in the production cycle. What better way to stay competitive than try to remove the competition... right?

yup, screen was a deal breaker for me.

True, and the back is plastic. BUT, the screen is amazing.
Plus ICS is supposed to be good, hopefully they don't put that copycat Touchwiz UI on it.

I completely agree with this.

I was honestly considering going iPhone if they did a 4" screen. Now I'll wait to see what Samsung announces on the 11th. If it's Nexus Prime with Ice Cream Sandwich, that's my next phone.

am I correct in assuming all the software features of the 4s will be on the 4 as well? so its just faster with a better camera? a 4inch screen would have made a lot of sense I think

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I really don't care about cameras on my cellphone.

Sure they are nice, and I want decent quality, but I'm never really taking action shots where I need to have faster shutter speeds with my phone, doesn't seem like much of a "feature" to me.

Yeah, they only developed a exclusive screen technology for their phones as well as designed and manufacture the own SoC's. Rumor has it they also did some of the design work for Apple's A5 as well, it's well known that they worked on the A4 design. That sounds pretty innovative to me.

Interesting things:

-Dual core gpu - wish android phones would stop lagging behind in gpu power
-Improved camera - Samsung seems pretty on top of this, although android does need to speed up the app. Quick launch from phone lockscreen would be nice, maybe ICS?

And that's really anything of interest. IOS5 nothing terribly special there. So nope, hasn't been enough in this version to swing me to the iphone. The lack of screen size increase really trumps any of the other benefits. Nexus prime it is!

I'd like to see a comparison from an actual reliable site (Anandtech, et al).
Trusting company numbers is like trusting nVidia which always claim 3-5x performance in their product presentations.

lol. no way in hell my sgs2 "shutter" delay is close to 2 seconds.

more like 1 second.

Actually, I like the speculation in the other thread that it's the other way around: that suing Samsung screwed up their product cycle because Samsung is a better chip supplier than the replacement.

Ha ha. Serves the patent trolls right.

I'm out to buy a SGS2 as soon as I can. iphone 4s basically exactly the same as 4 but with dual core processor. Siri sounds neat but then I realized I can't use it at work (annoying), in the toilet (weird), and at home its pointless (pc). So the only place it would be handy would be while driving, and that's not a big seller for me.

I love my iphone 3gs, but I think I'll try out android for a generation till iphone 5 comes out.

as i said in the apple forum thread some of the stuff they anounced is nice but the screen size being the same really is a killer

i recently went from a OG Droid to a Droid X. for me teh DX is perfect in size, both phone and screen, i coudl not imagin going smaller then the Og Droid or even using that again.

you arent alone i agree with you. all cameras in phones suck

however i might be biased by the fact that i own like $10K in SLR camera equpiment

You can launch the camera (or any other app) from the lockscreen in Android via the WidgetLocker app.
