That's what Apple is banking on.
I hate that they're going to use an 8GB 5c as the value proposition. (was in the pricing slides)

8GB....

My 3G was 8GB. That was what, six years ago, and that was the base model. 😀

Yeah, I don't know. iPhone 6 isn't a clear winner this time. Going to wait for it to launch and get dissected so I can get a better idea of performance.

Just ordered some of these to carry my new iPhone:

Ouch. Dunno about the US, but they raised the unlocked pricing in Canada.

iPhone 6: Starts at $749
iPhone 6+: Starts at $859

Where can you find the info for the US pricing?

These puppies be selling for 1k easy on eBay after launch I bet lol

Performance? It's not like it's a Corvette, you're using it to run applications. People put too much stock into "well this benchmark says..." - if you have a 5S then yes, it may not be a huge life changing difference.

For someone like me still on a 4 (not the 4s, a normal 4), it will be. There's a world of diff b/t my wife's 5S and my 4...tried to be patient to wait it out. That being said, I'm not even using 1/2 of the 16GB on this thing, just wondering if I should upgrade to a 64. Can't hurt in the long run, but just makes me wonder why a 32GB wasn't the base instead of a 16.

It's like a Corvette. That you only drive to and from work. And is stuck in traffic every day.

I'm surprised there aren't more people complaining that the camera is 8MP. Wasn't that the biggest complaint last year?

I'm glad people aren't complaining. Perhaps people are starting to realize that there is more to it than pixel count. Or maybe they just forgot.

As an Android fan and user, if there's one thing the iPhone does right, it's the camera.

How do you Pre-Order? It starts on the 12th.
Can you pre-order from your carrier?
Online @ apple?
At Apple stores?

I want the 6+!

Not curious to see how it stacks up to the competition?

I don't know about at the physical Apple Store, but you can order them from your carrier (online or retail) or from the Apple Store webpage. I'm currently trying to find out from Verizon how I would go about switching from regular to Edge if I want to pre-order, and trying to get my question across is about as painless as herding cats. It sounds like I'll have to pre-order through Verizon to do that.

IIRC, in order to be eligible for Edge, you have to be able to upgrade and upgrade using it as an option. I don't know how that works for preorders though.

Yep. I'm definitely eligible for an upgrade at the moment as I bought my 5S off-contract. The guy that I spoke to on Verizon's Live Chat insisted that I could pre-order the phone and switch to Verizon Edge through Verizon, but only through them. While I'm not a huge fan of the hassle (as it may be a bother in the future too), I do like that you can get discounts on larger data plans on Edge. One of the reasons why I don't do much multimedia on my iPhone is that I'll chew through my 4GB rather quickly (and I've done it). I can upgrade to 10GB via Edge for $15 more a month (Edge has a $10 discount for most plans, but $25 for 10GB+). A larger phone would definitely be nicer for multimedia, and having a data plan that could support such usage would be even better.

Although, I would really prefer to see more realistic data pricing, but we all know that won't happen. 😛

I'm wondering the same thing for AT&T Next. Currently on a 2 year contract that ends 9/12. Considering Next 12 since I'm a technophile, even if it's a little more expensive over 2 years.

Using the T-mobile contract free pricing:

Pricing is available on the Apple website.... you just can't order it yet.

They don't allow preorders for full price buyers do they? Only people signing contracts?

Ouch indeed, my 5 was 699$.

I'm also reading Rogers will require people to move to a minimum 80$/month plan and I'm on a 70$ unlimited everything with 6GB retentions plan that I don't want to lose.

Might be keeping my iPhone 5 after all...
