Hmm... I know some people seemed a bit turned off by the large separators on the back up by the camera. Although, I wonder if that has anything to do with NFC? If I remember correctly, NFC requires a much larger antenna than other communication methods, but similar to the others, it cannot work with metal. So, given the iPhone's back is mostly made of metal (the Apple logo isn't), it would never function. So, maybe that larger gap allows them to implement NFC?

I've seen some mock-ups that show black glass at the top and bottom (like iPhone 5 / 5s). It looked pretty good. At this point, I'm not sure if Apple will have that or not.

I love how we know everything generally, but nothing specifically.

I just hope it doesn't look stupid like the curves on my 2010 MacBook look now. I feel like apple is trying to get retro.

New top row to Passbook icon.

Looks like it could be a credit card.

If that is a real photo it can't be much else. NFC or, even better, some proprietary apple only version of NFC that will make google scream.

Weeks ago, I saw that leaked screen part on the blogosphere and hoped it wouldn't end up looking like that. I definitely don't like the puffy/rounded look. Multiple leaks from multiple sources seem to confirm that's what it will look like. 🙁

It's my impression that the Apple logo is probably made of liquid metal, which is radio transparent and the NFC antenna is likely behind it. My completely uneducated guess.

The lines on the device are there to serve the same purpose as the glass windows. HTC uses pretty much the same design on it's One series. The NFC antenna on the one is wrapped around the camera module and uses the extremely small break above the camera to communicate so I don't think Apple will have an issue.

Breaks in the iPhone casing will be for wifi/bt and, Jobs willing, a third cellular antenna.

I gotta believe those may be actual parts of the iPhone 6 but they are not completely finished parts. They look more like outlined for painting/sanding. Once I saw this render it all made sense. Besides, Jony Ive never struck me as 'tacky' in his artistic style.

There's something I don't quite like about the design, but I can't put my figure in it. Volume buttons are very reminicent of the 3G/3GS.

Amazing how much is being leaked. Never would have happened if Steve Jobs were still alive.

I'm actually happy to have that style volume button back. I'm not a big fan of what I refer to as "button nipples".

I have a feeling it will look much better in person. I'm happy with my 5s. If you buy the "s" version of any iPhone you get a better processor. The regular versions are usually iterations with better screens (exception being iPhone 4).

The iPhone 4 had a better screen. Just not a larger one.

I really don't like the white on the back of the silver and gold. You would think they would go with a similar shade like they do on the black.

My gold 5s has white bands at the top and bottom.

So it's white gold white.

I prefer the leaked 6's gold white gold white gold.

More like the iPad mini / Air and iPod touch 5th gen.

The whole iPhone 4 leaked quite spectacularly months before it was announced. 🙂

No I meant the iPhone 4 had both a better screen and processor.

I don't think there has been an iteration yet that didn't have a much-improved processor. The lone exception was iPhone --> iPhone 3G.

The iPhone 3G was the first iPhone as far as the rest of the world is concerned because the original was USA-only.

I really hope this is true. I think the direction they went with the iPad air and mini is an excellent one.

If they really make it 6mm, we are pretty much approaching the limit for how thin a device can be before it snaps like a twig under the weight of your buttocks.

So, there have been the rumors of a staggered release schedule for the two new iPhone sizes. Would having to wait push anyone away from the 5.5" model? Last year, Verizon changed their upgrade period to the full two years instead of 20 months. In other words, if I get the 5.5" in October, I'll have to wait until October to upgrade in the future, which puts me off of alignment for all possible future iPhone upgrades. D:

Hm... one odd thing. I checked my Verizon app, and it says that my iPad isn't available for an upgrade until November, but my iPad wasn't subsidized. 😵

It won't discourage me. I'm doing Next, so I basically upgrade whenever I feel like it.

If you have a device on a plan, even if it's not subsidized, they will let you purchase a subsidized device after two years. My iPad on AT&T did the same thing. Said 'not eligible for upgrade' for a couple of years then one day I could. There was never a contract assigned, it was just how the system handled it.

Lol. I remember that. Didn't Apple try to have the guy from Gizmodo arrested for buying known stolen property. Steve Jobs didn't like his vision to be dicked around with.

I also learned that it's oh so fun watching Gawker squirm. They're such big bags of crap over there, it's not even funny.

Oh, and the 3G was the first to come to mind because I had one of those.
