At this point, I don't really care much what the specs of the CPU/GPU are, as long as the OS won't lag on-screen.

Besides TouchID, about the only spec I'm really interested in is the amount of RAM, and we won't even hear about that on Sept. 9.

NFC? Meh.
Motion Co-processor? Meh. (Yes, I have it in my 5s.)
400+ ppi pixel density? Nice, but not critical.
iWatch integration? Meh.
Sapphire? Meh.
Thinner? Meh. What's this obsession with thinness anyway?
Better camera with optical stabilization? OK, I'd appreciate that, but my 5s' camera is OK.
802.11ac? OK, I'd appreciate that, but 802.11n is OK.
Faster LTE? Meh.

I think the sweet spot for me for screen size would be around 4.2-4.3", but we won't get that.

It's sad that we are discussing the release of a new apple product and all we are expecting are samsung-spec-bump stuff.

I expect apple will deliver nothing less than the best all around smartphone on the market.

I am thinking the screen sizes are wrong, or there is a 3rd size (4.3-4.5") that exists

It bothers me that the 4.7" model is as big as the GS4. I had the GS4 and I have big hands and it was a pain to use one handed.

On iOS i really miss the Swype typing.

Do we know of any keyboard improvements due for iOS 8?

The predictive typing ala Windows Phone...but otherwise, no. The keyboard is as craptastic as it has ever been. The biggest improvement will be the size of the screen spacing letters out, I hope. As it stands, the keyboard on iOS8/iP5 is making me want to dump my iphone. As well as how craptastic iOS8's preview builds have been (two reboots required, daily. Gah!)

What, you guys are totally unaware of third party keyboards in iOS 8?

I've barely paid attention. This *&%ing preview has been a vacation from my phone. I try to avoid using it anymore. I get preview builds are unstable - I'm a dev and all that. But I haven't seen a preview build from a serious software company that was THIS BAD since Vista Beta 1. Very often, the new KB crashes my phone or is just unresponsive anyway.

I'm trying to figure out if WP8.1 is what I want going forward....because Apple has lost me on the phone front.

iOS 7 beta was pretty unusable.

The sizes are definitely right. Want a 4" phone? Here's the 5S (5SC?).

This.

This.

I have the 5s lol

You sound like some android spec lover unhappy his Qualcomm silicon and AMOLED screens are being totally outclassed by a 4" dual core LCD device.

You are the kind of people who apple stopped following and that is what made them great. They didn't listen to the geeks because geeks don't like to spend on stuff they get free elsewhere and geeks aren't cool. Nothing wrong with being a geek and loving specs but really you are not the mold on which apple should base it's ideal phone.

What are you talking about? I'm saying that the rumored sizes are absolutely correct. They will continue offering a 4" phone for those who want it (5S or the next "C" phone). That is the only "third size" option you are going to get unless they make a mini that goes back to 3.5"

I have a Galaxy Note 3 and will be upgrading to the 5.5" iPhone. WTF is wrong with you?!

Dude do you not remember what you post in your own threads? Read post #106 that is you. You like smart watches. Enough said.

I liked my Sony Ericsson MBW-150 and I absolutely HATE the direction so-called "smart watches" have taken since. What does that have to do with your ridiculous over-reaction to me confirming the screen sizes of the next iPhone, FFS?!

You failed to say anything and that's somehow "enough?" 🙄

CZroe doesn't like the kind of smart watch that the industry keeps trying to make. His smart watch is something like this:

Let's just agree to disagree. I know where this ends and it's not a free dinner at red lobster.

*shrug* I've been using iOS 8 since day one and it's been pretty good. B1&2 had some issues. B3 was pretty good. B4 ended up breaking a few more things but B5 seems to have fixed the majority of them and is pretty solid. I'm not unhappy with it.

I remember iOS 7 being a tad worse in the stability category.

B3 was untenable on my 5s so I went back to 7.1.2 Jailbreak, or maybe it wa B2? Idk I just remember snapchat would not do video and that's a dealbreaker.

My developer friend said the first couple of iOS 8 versions sucked but the latest version is good.

I'll probably update right away this month. I'm keen to try out the SMS / MMS support. I've avoided iMessage for various reasons, but iOS 8 / Yosemite takes care of the one main disadvantage SMS / MMS had vs iMessage, and that is iPad and Mac support.

I will be so excited to get NFC payments. One of the biggest things I missed from using a Galaxy Nexus.

Bummer is that once it's in an iPhone people won't be as amazed by it when I do it 😉
