Why is it that most people on the right are so STUPID and even MORE stupid? I just don't get how anyone can vote for these freaks...

Help me understand.

Jesus, you progressives are stupid lot aren't you?

There isn't anything remotely close to stripping Obammies citizenship in their platform. You fucking morons lap up whatever the liberal bloggers put out for you. What's funny is this is even worse than the Sherrod video because she actually said the things in the video, this whole stripping Obama of his citizenship bullshit is completely made up. Of course considering that it's "Thinkprogress" the ultimate liberal lie machine, and Huffington Putz, I'd expect no less. Haha and you guys criticize Fox? LOLLERSKATES!!!!!!!!!

you are correct..not his citizenship

but..

"The amendment states that “if any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive or retain any title of nobility or honor” from a “foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen” and “shall be incapable of holding any office of trust.” "

Here's a Newsweek article that mentions this, but the main focus is the history of this 13th Amendment and the movement to restore it. Quite interesting.

As an Iowan, I'd like to offer my apology to America for the petty idiots we seem to have in our state GOP.

Whatever it says the lie is that this is in their platform, it isn't.

Sorry sweetie, it is indeed. From the Newsweek article above:

If there is an aspect of the human condition that is unaddressed by the platform of the Republican Party of Iowa, adopted last month at the state convention in Des Moines, you’d have to look awfully hard to find it. Its 387 enumerated planks and principles range widely over politics, culture, and economics, from sweeping statements of belief (“America is good”) to the fine nuances of agricultural policy (“We support the definition of manure as natural fertilizer”) and touching on the mythical “North American Union” (against) and the gold standard (for). Even so, it’s a little startling to come upon section 7.19, which calls for “the reintroduction and ratification of the original 13th Amendment, not the 13th amendment in today’s Constitution.”
[ ... ]
There are, of course, other implications of Thirteenthism, such as ensuring that the United States never again suffers the humiliation of having a president win the Nobel Peace Prize. That was just what the Iowa Republicans had in mind, according to [ state GOP Communications Director Danielle ] Plogmann, who wrote in an e-mail that the plank “was meant to make a statement about the delegates’ opinion about Mr. Obama receiving the prize.” ...

Iowa people are laid back. I only go through on my way to Canada to fish but overall very cool. They see what a snake in the grass Obama has been.

is the nobel prize committee or group who hands out the nobel prize even a foreign power as the "original" 13th amendment if it was ratified wouldn't change a thing about Obama or any other us citizen who has won a nobel prize.

I thought it was merely a group of Swedish academics with no government authority who look at hundreds of submissions in all areas and decide who gets a prize in that area.

Its akin to an essay writing contest with many topics. You enter, they pick you they win.

The swedish government does not bestow the title upon you or have any connection with committee's money.

Good point. The SC would have to rule on it for sure. The Norwegian Government appoints 5 Members to it, not sure how many are there total. So there's at least some possibility it would qualify according to the 13th.

The part about title of nobility may be good. That sort of barbarism has no place in any modern society.

Whats funny is I was going to say the exact same thing you said . exspecially the sherrod . On that sherrod thing if I was going to point fingers at whos tring to make who look bad and racist . I would say the liberials put this story out self accusing to make it look like the righties did it . Its makes the most sense and the left had the most to gain from such a story.

Well I don't think its a bad Idea to limit lawyers and judges from running for public office other than judgeship. 3 branches of government . Lawyers don't belong anywere but in the judical branch of government . Seperation of powers works . Besides we all know how lawyers are . Make great $$$$. But they are lusy human beings in todays world . NO GOOD ones left sadly . Ambulance chasers they be . Class action lawsuites are one of the biggest criminal actions ever taken against the public good.

Some of the midwestern states actually have some real progressive movement history. It's the deep south that's more challenged.
