Another Blackbush getting a free pass by liberals thread..color me surprised. Enabling gets you nowhere like HC bill you just have to wait and see how 'universal' it is with 400% premium increases while cutting medicare at same time. I can't wait for disillusionment to set in ...Iowa was only 18 months late, how late will you be and you make fun of them??? LOL Silly sheep.

Here's a Newsweek article that mentions this, but the main focus is the history of this 13th Amendment and the movement to restore it. Quite interesting.

As an Iowan, I'd like to offer my apology to America for the petty idiots we seem to have in our state GOP.

 And if you'd pay attention as an Iowan you'd know that the platform isn't actually from the elected nor does it carry any weight at all. It all comes from precinct caucuses, then county and then state conventions. It has exactly zero to do actual legislation or governance.

The Nobel Peace Prize is an award, not a title.

How stupid are you partisan hacks?

Don't let things like facts get in the way of the circle of stupidity ;)

Although, I found this regarding the original 13th amendment:

All attorneys and judges who claim the title "esquire," a title of English nobility beneath knighthood and extended to professional men, are incapable of holding public office under the Amendment. If enforced, nearly half the legislators in office throughout America would be removed from office and stripped of their citizenship.

Damn, half the legislators in office throughout the land would be removed from office and booted out? Maybe we should support re-instating the original 13th after all!

Why is it that most people on the right are so STUPID and even MORE stupid? I just don't get how anyone can vote for these freaks...

Help me understand.

This coming from the same "journalists" that actively and purposefully conspired to lie and distort news to promote Obama?

Nah... no untruthfulness there....

If you can't understand the "other" side (even if you don't agree with it), you're beyond help. Just keep doing what you're told - it's apparently gotten you this far.

It doesn't say anything about stripping his citizenship fool, that's just some made up bullshit to get you loony leftist frothing at the mouth.
Yes dear, we already covered that. Let's follow along with the conversation, shall we? You already stated -- correctly -- they didn't mention stripping his citizenship. LT agreed but pointed out what it actually said. You then disputed him:
Whatever it says the lie is that this is in their platform, it isn't.
Those are your words, fool. You were wrong. It is in their platform as I showed. Now it's time for you to man up and acknowledge your error. Oh wait, you don't do that. You're just another mindless nutter who rages on cue and then crawls back into the woodwork once it's shown you've been played yet again.

Read the Newsweek link troll. The Iowa GOP really did put a plank in their platform to support restoring the original 13th Amendment, and according to their communications director, they did it as a shot at Obama. I know reading is hard, but give it a try.

Ah, I stand corrected.

Wait, no I don't. I didn't say anything to the contrary. Indeed, the Newsweek article I linked explicitly notes this has NOT been introduced as legislation. And? Nobody (but you) suggested it was. That's not the point. The mockery is aimed at THE FACT that a bunch of your precious GOP officials were actually petty enough and dumb enough to put something like this in their platform.

So once again, you've refuted something nobody said. That's called a straw man. It's a duhversion from the actual topic at hand. Imagine that. Oh well, go with your strengths.

Perhaps you truth seekers should explain these "facts" to the partisan hacks in the Iowa GOP. They are the ones who aimed this at Obama. The circle of stupidity is theirs, though it appears to extend to a bunch of the usual nutters here as well since they can't bother to read the thread.

Birthers! and Tenthers! And now Thirteenthers!

The GOPers are desperately attempting to divert attention from the fact that they crashed the economy, enabled the greatest financial elite looting spree since 1929, and created a foreign policy nightmare. And the Base laps it up, burrows deeper into denial.

Just blame Obama!

Oh, yeh, Mow-rons, here's a partial list of Americans who've received honorary titles from various monarchs-

I see Saint Ronnie's name on the list, but that must be different, right?

I still see no evidence it is the Iowa GOP making this statement about stripping Obama of citizenship. I only see partisan numnuts making an interpretation they think will help them influence the upcoming election.

Yes, we've already covered that. It is true that one of the proposed versions of the original 13th amendment included stripping citizenship. There is no evidence this was the intent of the Iowa GOP. The OP's title is mistaken, at least based on the information in Newsweek.

Your comment to which I replied was not about this, however. You suggested those who couldn't tell the difference between an award and a title were "stupid partisan hacks," an attack you aimed at the OP. Unfortunately for you, it was not the OP who is too stupid to see the difference. It is the Iowa GOP members who endorsed this idea as a shot at Obama. They seem to think the original 13th amendment somehow applies to Obama due to him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. In short, it's your own wing-nut brethren who are the stupid partisan hacks, at least in this example.

In other words, you blew it. As with xJohnx, you can either man up and admit your mistake, or you can continue to flail foolishly. It takes integrity to admit when one is wrong, and it's no fun. That's why I try to understand issues before I start shooting off my mouth.

No they don't, and I still haven't seen any evidence to that.

Use your brain, use your common sense. Do you really think people of a mainstream political party are getting together to discuss in a serious manner ways they can strip Obama of his citizenship? And that the Nobel Peace Prize is how they can do it?

Get real. Stop looking at this non-story through your partisan glasses.

Did they state that? Or did some blogger infer that it could happen if somehow the "original" 13th Amendment is passed, and then try to attribute it to them? I read their Platform twice, and saw no mention of using the 13th Amendment to strip Obama of his citizenship.

Bowfinger linked to both the stance and the Head of the Iowa's GOP explaining the Stance. What more do you need? Yes, they did state that.
