I just refreshed my AnandTech control panel I had left open in mobile Safari and got kicked to an iOS app in the Apple iTunes App Store.

When I got back I clicked to read unread posts in a subscribed thread then clicked the arrow in a quote to jump to another post on the same page. When I was done I swiped back and was then sent to the iOS App Store for another app, even though swiping "back" was still on the same page.

There did not appear to be an ad related to either app on the pages when I was forwarded. Neither were accidental taps.

The first app I was taken to was "Draft Kings - One Day Fantasy Sports League"
The second app was Game of War - Fire Age.

Premium subscriptions so we can lose the ads. Problem solved..at least for those users.

Update from the ad guys: if this happens, please take screenshots of the AT web page. There are 3 ad spots; top banner, side banner, and bottom banner. If we can ID the ads, we can find the culprit and get them pulled.

What app did it redirect to in the App Store? That could provide some clues

2nd instance, no idea what the ads are. But look at the history to see the redirect link, and where it led to in the App Store

I am getting it also, and the only ad is the very top bar. The others seem to be broken. I will mark down what ad it is next time it happens.

The apps shown when the App Store loads keep changing, but jelly splash is frequent...

it's ads coming from, or associated with, whatever afftrx.com is.

(i've seen URLs starting with u.afftrx.com, d.afftrx.com, redirect.afftrx.com)

Interestingly I'm on this site almost exclusively on my tab or phone and have not received a single redirect. Being in the UK and getting location specific ads, perhaps that helps for a pointer...

Similarly, I haven't had one since the day I started this thread when I got them back-to-back.

This is making the site almost un-viewable on iOS. When I get redirected, 50% of the time it also sends me back one page.

have you cleared cache/cookies/history lately? that might alleviate the issue a bit.

Never had and it's not a valid solution for me to view atot. 99% of my App Store redirects come from at/drudge.

^^not a solution to the problem by any means, but it might cut it down a bit as the ads are served up based on context of browsing history.
