The iPhone 4 is really slow in today's market; i'd recommend anyone that can upgrade pay the $99 to go to a 5 or 5c (if you are at 16GB). ios7 runs on a 4s decent. 5 is better.

There should be no difference between ios7 on a 5c vs 5. They use the same chip.

It's really optimized for the 5s though...

My first impression is holy smokes this is ugly. I like the added features but visually it's a mess. It was stale and needed revamping but these icons are just plain horrible.

Safari on iPad has Apple/Disney/ESPN/Yahoo icons. How to remove this crap?

Do you have a Mac or use Safari on Windows?

I would think you were signed in to your iCloud account on your Mac/PC and the default Safari bookmarks were synced over.

I put it on my work 4S. Not sure if I like it or not. It's ok, but it seems to drain the battery quicker which is a big problem. It's gone from 83% to 74% in 30 mins, and I haven't really done anything. I've only looked at it for half that time and haven't run anything intensive. Also, everything just seems a bit slower. Less snappy. This is a work phone so I'm stuck with it for the next year at least.

I do like the new camera interface though. And the new way to close background apps is an improvement.

App Background Refresh: Turn it to off.

Settings > General >Background App Refresh and toggle the setting to off.

This puts your battery life back to normal.

Ok so I've been using it on my ipad and it's starting to grow on me. The keyboard is still too white.

Also, in safari I hate how it searches and displays your history. I would rather just see google results and recent searches. The reason being that my wife and I share it and there can be some out there threat titles in ATOT and I don't want that being the first thing that pops up!

Yeah. Unfortunately, I agree. I don't like the color palette. It's too bright and tie dye-ish.

They should have just spruced up iOS's look but pack in the features.

My feeling as well. Maybe it looks better on a tiny iPhone screen. I'm not a big fan so far on my ipad 4

Its funny how even Apple poked fun at itself for the skeumorphic design when iOS7 is packed with animations everywhere.

It is on mine but it is just words and not an icon showing the weather.

Yeah. If you touch the text it brings up the weather app.

The colors in general are too bright. I ended up turning down the brightness, and it doesnt look as bad. Some of the subtle touches are kinda nice, like the clouds and stars moving in the background in the weather app. I dont know what its called, but swiping up from Home brings up controls, flashlight, calc, camera, etc, which is nice as well.

One thing that is annoying is that my Podcasts in the Music app seem to be missing. Previously I delete the Podcasts app so I could use the Music app to listen to podcasts, and now they are gone. And a new Podcasts app wasnt installed with IOS7.

Animations and skedomorphic designs are two different things, but I did laugh when I pulled up the note pad and the paper had a texture.

If it's like my ipad iTunes offers a podcast app. No idea why they want it separate from the music app.

So the keyboard appears to have the new theme in Apple apps but the old theme in everything else. Bug? Feature? App problem?

Yeah, I had to download via the App Store. Before you could delete the Podcasts app and you could then play them in the Music app. You can't do that now. I downloaded Podcasts, deleted it, and opened Music and no Podcasts section in More. At leasts the Podcasts app doesnt seem as shitty as it once was.

Did the iPhone software update server crash? I can't update my iPad (kept getting Error 3004) and I can't get the software for my iPhone.

EDIT:

Seems to be back now....

Anyone else notice improved reception (at least on T-Mobile)? When from 1 bar in my living room to 3 on an iPhone 5
Entirely possible. Updating took about 30 minutes, so T-Mobile could have put up a new tower near your place in that time.

It's okay so far. I'm a UI/UX designer so I'm pretty picky, but I think iOS 7 is decent overall.

I like a lot of the little "polish" things, like smoother, better animations and the in/out fade when you sleep or wake your phone. I also dig the the new options that are accessible from the lock screen for toggling wifi, bluetooth, etc.

The color scheme could use some work, though... it seems pretty harsh in some areas of the UI.

Can anyone actually update/upgrade to iOS 7? I've tried iTunes but it says I need iTunes 11.0.5. (Shows iOS 7 as available but tells me to download 11.0.5 but I can't) I'm running 11.0.5.5. I tried updating through my iPhone (Software Update) but it only either gives me an error trying to update, or shows me the 6.1.3 🙁
