Invitation or not an invitation?

Person A: Hey did you hear about Event X this Saturday?
Person B: No I have not.
Person A: I will send you the info.
[Person A emails Person B pertinent info]

1 day later...

Person B: I can't make it to Event X.
Person A: I didn't really invite you anyway.
Person B: ......

hmmm,, not an invitation....

Depends on what the event was. In Pepsei's example, it's not an invite. If he was talking about a party at his house, then it's obviously an invite.

err, why would person A say "I didn't really invite you?". Couldn't you have gone to Event X on your own? What a douchebag.

EDIT: Of course if Event X is not being put on by Person A. Which would make him a bigger douchebag anyways.

Obviously the event matters. If it's my friend telling me his sister is getting married this weekend, I'm not assuming I'm invited, even if he does go to the trouble to send me info. If it's some random party, I would assume the mention plus sending information constituted an invite.

Person A is a douche either way though.

Person A sounds like me...😉. I always ask, "what are you doing this weekend?", then they ask me back "where do you want to go?".

I just want to know, I'm not asking or inviting at all.
