Happy Rhodes - Many Worlds Are Born Tonight
Indeed. I also enjoy Rhodesongs and Warpaint. Happy is hard to describe...part folk, part rock, part techno. Stupendous singer and musician, and very interesting lyrics, though I don't share her world view. Check out

Genesis is my favorite band and Nursery Cryme is my favorite album. A magical toy which suddenly transforms a boy into a man, a pair of widows who only have each other and their faith, evil plants taking over the world, reliance on superstition over reason, insanity and suicide, dancing children, and the Greek myth of Hermaphroditus- you'll find all this and more in Nursery Cryme. Astonishing, even after all these years.
If you value meaning and artistic integrity over a groovy dance beat, check out Amused To Death by Roger Waters (formerly of Pink Floyd). Waters looks modern society straight in the eye and tells it what he thinks of it. Jeff Beck provides the haunting guitar work that Waters had been missing since he left Pink Floyd.
Vaguely similar is Tyger by Tangerine Dream. It combines poetry by William Blake with engaging electronic music. Lyrics are a major departure for Tangerine Dream, and their hardcore fans were not impressed, but I think they were a welcome addition.
