Interracial marriage in US hits new high: 1 in 12

Interracial marriages in the U.S. have climbed to 4.8 million — a record 1 in 12 — as a steady flow of new Asian and Hispanic immigrants expands the pool of prospective spouses. Blacks are now substantially more likely than before to marry whites.

The top three states for white-black married couples are Virginia, North Carolina and Kansas, all with rates of about 3 percent.

Mudbloods

By the time immigrants hit 2nd or 3rd generation, they identify less with their original country and culture and are just Americans. At least that's what it looks like to me. Maybe those that live in Little Wherever hold onto it a bit longer.

We are truly the melting pot, it's good to see.

I disagree. I don't like seeing everyone look the same. A homogenized world world would be boring as shit, with everyone being a medium brown, and speaking some bastardized form of Spanish, English, and Chinese.

I doubt that will happen. I still think you'll have plenty of ranges in color for a long time to come.

Sure. I'm just taking the long view, and imagining what things could be like in a few hundred/thousand years. I don't buy into the "world community" concept. I like that people are different, and you can go somewhere else and have a different experience.

So long as anyone, when describing themselves, puts their ancestors country of origin before American then they aren't really Americans...once they can put America first then we might be able to get to be a single nation for once

2 of the 3 on there are states that seceded during the civil war.

Yet we have asinine comments such as these.

The south just had a collective heart attack

Attention Texans

Admit your prejudice against southerners, because the facts show that southerners are improving race relations by actually marrying interracial in higher numbers than northern states.
