Internet noobs. How I miss them.

Got a call from someone who just recently got on the internet for the first time.
They were all bent of shape over the ads that were appearing. They couldn't understand how some item they had looked up on the internet was suddenly appearing in ads on other websites. She was almost to the point of paranoia.

It was LOL good.
 
Geez I guess you are all city boys. There is still some of America without high speed and who have phone lines not even capable of 28.8 and have no line of sight or can't afford satellite.

Not to mention a large population of technophobic seniors. Neither of my grandmas have used the Internet. Just can't be bothered to learn at their age.
 
Haha I remember the first time I went on the internet. It was so surreal. Now I tend to take it for granted. Then I remember when high speed 1mb came out, it was so fast! 10 years later and it's now at 8mb. You can probably get 12 if you bring your laptop and modem at the CO and clip it at the frame.

I remember me and my siblings got in so much trouble because of how long we were on chat rooms. That's when AOL was charging per minute. Huge bill

Yeah, I work for an ISP and actually most people are like that. They think they've been hacked and are afraid to do anything. I keep explaining that it's a tracking cookie and the reason most of the content on the Internet is free. The never believe me.
