I needed to get gas and headed over to Mobil since their premium was cheapest, but I had never been there before. There were many leaky water spots which beaded quickly onto the car, and onto me as I got out of the car. The attendant, Mohammed comes to put in the nozzle. It doesn't click in. Late model car, shouldn't happen, never happened before. As he is clicking the handle, gas spews out of the nozzle and onto the car. There was $4.10 worth of gas that registered from the pump, but when I had started the car to move it, the gas needle didn't budge so it was probably a faulty pump. I told him to check my gas needle if he didn't believe me, but technically he wouldn't know where it was at in the first place. Well after $21 he says that it's done. I told him needed $25. He billed me for the 4 bucks that spewed onto the car. So I get up, and I start talking to him about how I shouldn't pay for that. Mohammed was a guy in his late fifties who had to wear a shirt and tie during the hot days of summer to pump gas. So I don't curse him out or anything , but I'm firm and louder. I do the usual, "what's your name? what's your manager's name?" Then I realize that I'm the one in control of the conversation. I was taken aback, and just told him "alright forget it. I'm not arguing about 4 dollars."
After thinking about what happened, he looked like he was afraid. Then I realize that the guy is working a late shift as a gas station in his late fifties. Do I have to punish him more?
I went there and apologized for my behavior. He goes inside and shows me a receipt of how 4 dollars left the pump. I kindly laughed it off and told him don't worry and to have a good night.
It just kinda scared me about how I realized I was in control. Would you have gone back and apologized? Argued about the 4 bucks? Discuss

EDIT: I got up to pump the gas and it wouldn't click in right. Then he tried and that is where the story began
