thanks-at least someone is smarter to actually see the thread for what it was unlike calling me a douche bag for making an assumption that I don't pump my own gas.

You=pussy.

It's illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. I tried it once, and within 5 seconds of inserting the nozzle had 3 guys running at me yelling in Arabic. I think station owners can get fined for allowing customers to fill their own tank. And many stations in NY are full-service only, even though it's not the law here.

Is there any possible logical explanation for that other than "it's the law"?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Why is it the dumbest fvcking thing you've ever heard?

You=should move to another state.

fixed.

actually you = moron, im from NY and ive never had anyone pump my gas there, and ive driven just about everywhere in the state

NYC may be different but i refuse to drive there

Like I said - he was from NY and said some dude pumped his gas. Knowing that you can't pump gas in Jersey - I figured that it was the same deal in NY too. Big fvcking whoop.

And that is exactly why you were accepted into all those elite law schools:)

Also, after looking at the thread we have an argument about pumping gas. This place has gone downhill.

I could never think of one. At least in NY, most of the full service stations use the "full service only" ruse to squeeze tips out of the customers. They'll put the nozzle in the tank - and while you're trapped there, they'll throw slimy water on your car and smear it around with a gritty brush, then expect a tip. I avoid the full-serve only stations like the plague unless I'm on fumes.

Nearly sh!t myself when those guys in Jersey started running at me though, I couldn't figure out what the hell they were babbling about at first.

There is no choice. You have to pay for someone to come pump your gas for you. Don't you think that's a little nuts? I'm a cheap bastard I guess...:laugh:

I think the last time I had someone pump gas for me was when I lived in NY and it was cold as hell outside. I decided to make some poor guy schlep out there and pump my gas for me. That must have been 16-17 years ago.

God I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

I really dont see a difference in price...In fact, we're usually cheaper than all of the surrounding self serve states. I dont have to get out of the car in the rain, snow, heat, bugs...I dont ever smell like gas. I don't know anyone that has ever had a vehicle damaged by an attendant. I've never had an attendant insist on a tip.

If theres a price difference, its awfully miniscule...I dont notice it. Whatever it is, I believe its well worth it.

In addition, I'm disabled. I'm a quadriplegic and I'd make a big mess if I tried to do it myself. Its really a great thing to have for people like myself.

Yes, the rest of you saps have to get out of your car and pump gas in blistering weather while our gas is probably cheaper. How's that for f'ed up?

EDIT: and yes, it is the law in Jersey that you can't pump your own gas. I believe it has something to do with some prior lawsuits and idiots setting themselves aflame... even if that's an urban myth, it's still a law you don't pump your own gas in Jersey.

New Jersey you can't, New York you can. I have lived in NY all my life and have never had someone pump gas for me. Know the facts before you post.
