It is habits. You said it yoruself it is hard for you to cut out carbs. Just cut back a BIT then it will show up. Do some training and running/swimming/cycling and you are set. 4-6months is a good time to see good results from a beginner. Nothing happens fast you just got to stick it, unless you really cut the amount of food you eat.

Saying that I am eating an uter boat load but that is alright as I'm training a lot and have done so for 3yrs now. Just hope end of March or April I'll cut back to eating normal again lol.

Some people are genetically fat, y'know.

The only solution to this problem is to kill all teenagers!

I don't believe that for a moment. Eat less and more exercise and you will be alright. Too many people use it as an excuse imo.

I never take the piss out of fat people unless they are just annoying or what not. I also hate how some people take the piss out of people who do not look 'typical' or are in to the typical things. I had a few friends in school and people use to take the piss. That really annoyed me that these nice guys or girls were being treated like so......

I grew up as the little fat kid in school, the sh*t I got was endless and though I'm not fat at all any more I'll never forget how much I hated going to school. When I was 18 I heard a guy making fun of an overweight person at a store and I hit him in the face. Got some jail time for that one but he let it go.

My mom's always been an emotional eater and overweight as well, my brother is fat and has yet to break the eating habbits we picked up when we were young. To be honest I've not completely lost the bad eating habbits either, which really has been a bitch with all the food allergies I have.

Overall, the constant teasing growing up has left me quite a bitter person. I got sh*t from some family members for being overweight, now that I've lost the weight I still hate them and they constantly ask why I have a problem with them .

I don't for a moment think overweight people shouldn't do everything in their power to change their ways, but I'll continue to punch anyone in the face for teasing an overweight person, that's for damn sure. A big PHUCK YOU to all who've made fun of a fat person.

Sounds to me like you'd have no friends even if you weren't a fattie earlier in life. It's hard for anyone to make friends with someone who's perpetually sensitive about problems that someone isn't even bringing up. Everybody has problems. You make it seem like being a fat person is the worse thing that can happen to anyone.

My brother is fat. He's losing weight, but he's still fat. However, he's nice to everyone. Yea, he would like to be thinner and yea he gets teased some for his weight. But, none of that turned him into a bitter person that decides to hate life. Instead, he works out and works to eat right. He doesn't hate himself, either.

Sorry, but if I make fun of a fat guy, you have no right to hit me. Granted, I shouldn't make fun of fat people, and I usually don't, but I can't see where you'd ever think you should hit someone.

Your attitude sucks no matter what you look like. You oughta work on changing it so making friends isn't such a hard thing to do. Let some of the bitterness slide. Nice fat people still end up having a lot of friends.

Exactly. At least you can change your diet and exercise. I'm short, but I'm not as bitter as you seem to be. You seem like you won't have any friends for that exact reason. Friends even make fun of each other for whatever. I dont know who you think you are, thinking it's your right to hit people because they call someone else fat.

being skinny isn't' much fun either. We dont' get as much flak, but when we do, there aint' sh!t we can do about it (except hit and runs, but our stamina only lasts so long)

yeah i had this problem.

i was 5ft5 and couldn't get past 125lbs. my freshmen year i was teased for it. but while i was 125lbs i was a tough little bastard.

i joined the wrestling team to try and put on weight. heh that didn't help but i was pretty good at it!

why is it OK to make fun of short, bald skinny guys? :frown: life is so unfair!

WOW! What a shocker! Seriously, I could have told you this would have happened before this ingenius "experiment."

She found that kids she normally might expect to be friends with ridiculed her after one glance
So why didnt she expect to be picked on, she was one of them.

What would happen if all the kids were thin and pretty, it would disrupt the whole school clique strata

Probably more emphasis on the rich/poor class gap then.

Sigh... I could never understand the thrill in making fun of people because of how they look. It's seems to be something only really insecure folks need to do.

A local tv show dressed up one of their reporters as a fattie and sent her barhopping to see the difference in the way she was treated. Someone tipped me off about it, so I put the moves on her and bought her drinks, it was kinda funny. I made the news but they didn't show my face. 😀

I was once called a "nazi" for saying nothing more than "I voted for Bush." Being called a "nazi" is far worse and far more hateful than being called "fat". Did I feel the need to punch the guy in the face? No. Because I'm not three years old and I know that words are words. They have no substance. And words from an idiot have even less substance. Unfortunately for the guy you punched, punches from an idiot do have substance.

Dammit...I get made fun of things like this more than I get about my weight. granted, I'm not terribly bad in terms of weight, but still not good. Mostly, I get made fun of for being an uber-nerd in terms of computers.

Do fat people ever stop to wonder why the U.S. has more fat people than any other country in the world? Do you see a lot of obese people in third world countries? Maybe they're too busy stuffing food in their face to realize their problem is self induced.

Sorry, but fat is not genetic. It's all about behavior. They're not about to get my sympathy anytime soon.

To some degree I think it is, at least as far as metabolic rate. I'm 6', 145 lbs. I don't exercise for shiat and I eat things like fried cheese and drink a gallon of whole milk every couple days. I cannot gain weight.

a 15 year old that's 200lbs aint normal anyway

And by that picture it is NOT 200lbs. My girlfriend is 200lbs. That is more along the lines of a quad. Contrary to popular opinion, school buses do not weigh 200lbs. Even weight guessers suck hardcore at that.

Yes, it is genetic in the fact that some people can eat a lot and not get fat. I've put on some weight over the years, but even after a rather sedentary 8 years I'm 6', 200lbs, and that's mostly muscle with some minor love handles.

But if you aren't like that, then you have to watch what you eat. It might not be fair, but that's life. If you have a slow metabolism, quit eating like a pig.

Too bad they can't disguise the fat people as skinny, then maybe they'd see the light and put the fork down.

nots not genetics, thats a damn fat explosion😛 and i don't think people in 1986 did a whole lot more hard labor then we do now.

for the most part it isn't, considering the huge increase in obesity rates since the 70s. guzzle sugar water and eat mcdonalds portions 2-3 times bigger then the original sizes, well u get fat. its like rocket science isn't it. studies show people eat more when you give them larger portions, more rocket science😉 all our portions have ballooned.

course it doesn't help that we underfund schools that have to cut pe programs. i remember my PE sucked cuz they didn't let us take showers after, thats a nice disincentive to workout hard if you don't want to reak the rest of the day.

I still disagree with the emphasis on food. I believe the problem lies more with inactivity. Our food has changed very little since the 1950/60s. In fact, what and how my mother cooked in the 60s and 70s would make any diet specialist cringe in horror (high fat and high carb foods), but none of us were fat.

The fact is, our activity levels have fallen dramatically. The obesity epidemic directly correlates with the rise in popularity of video games, the Internet and 200+ channel cable/sat TV.

And with more sedentary activities comes munching. It's a kind of vicious cycle.
