Long story short:
Sold a laptop on E-Bay, the winning bidder hasn't bought anything in several months, and I noticed his bidding activity included a few bids on other laptops as well at the same time. Payment showed up in my account immediately. Just out of habit, I immediately withdrew the money into my checking account. (That step may come bite me in the ass later, as you'll see)
Then I noticed the address is unconfirmed. Uh oh. I tried sending him a message, seeing as how the payment came through right away, and haven't heard back yet.
So let's assume the worst and assume this is somehow a scam, likely the idiot had his birthday as a password or something and got his paypal account hacked. What can Paypal do at this point? Can they go into my bank account and just re-withdraw the money? Because if not, I'm just going to insure the thing and get a tracking # and send it, and Paypal and that guy's credit card company can fight it out. If they CAN just go into my account and just grab whatever they want, then I guess I'd better reverse the payment and hope the runner up will take a second chance offer.
Seriously, WHY do I keep selling there? This happens literally every single time. Usually the winning bid is clearly bogus though because I get a message saying "My paypal account is broken I will send a money order for 3 billion dollars instead" or I get one of those spoofed Paypal pages. This is the first time I've ever actually fallen for it.
