While I have no notion of the reasons behind it, my current impression is that LBT is destroying Intel. Seems to be a classic, clueless CEO. Nothing he's promised has come to pass - there's just as much middle management and pointless meetings as ever. If anything there's more than there used to be... because the solution is always to fire engineers who do the work and hire outside 'expert' management. Hence I'll be quite happy if Trump gets his way and LBT is ousted. Intel was better off with their interim CEO structure... or just bring back Pat with a leash on foundry spending. If they hadn't ousted Pat, he likely would have played Trump like a fiddle and gotten Intel into a far, far better position by now. Instead it's been TSMC/Apple that have been whispering in Trump's ear and getting all the tariff carve outs to remain unaffected. Say what you will about Pat, but he knew how to play politics.
