Intel's Conroe Now In Hands Of A Few

Nobody has seen any results, I think he took it down on purpose and is probably going to run a 'lite' version of the site with the conroe results for a few days until traffic dies back down.
 
Here is a comparison of Merom and A64. X1400 seems much stronger than 6200TC. (And God knows at what speed Fugger's running it) Also remember that my 6200TC has only 32MB onboard memory and uses around 80MB of system RAM while running any decent 3D application. With all this said, Merom has still very a strong showing, especially considering its 1GHz clock speed deficit.

I just went over to AMDzone. I am not a member there, but I wanted to see what the AMD fans had to say about all this. And man-o-man, the inventiveness of some of the extreme fans is just simply breathtaking. Whoever wants a good laugh in the interim of waiting for XS benches, go and take a peek over at AMDzone.

AMD fans are just in denial their reign will end...I have been predicting it for 4 months now since AMD announced it was changing sockets/moving to DDR2 and little else...



I am interested in seeing its OC ability most of all....I dont think it will hit 4ghz on air though....not yet at least...14 stage pipeline?? 31 stage pipeline was created for that and it barely surpassed that barrier...Granted the 65nm looks good.....

It isn't just this thread it is most of your threads over the last year....It is quite clear you only buy INtel no matter how inferior the chip is...We know it, we get it...Also means you have little credibility in my eyes..Kinda how you treat MarkFW900!!!

Whether or not you ignore these next sentences is up to you. "I have a Dual Athlon MP system right here next to me humming away and I use if for one of my apps for work. MarkFW900 has been on the receiving end from me for quite a while, and you know why. Because almost every opportunity Mark could get his hands on, Mark pimped AMD ADAMENTLY. You will also find that I am not the only one who has told Mark to STFU because it was getting so tiresome. Now you are becoming the argumentative one, for ZERO reasons. You lashed out at me for NO REASON.

My reference to the AMDzone was to see what people were saying about FCG and FUGGERS dealings with Merom and Conroe. It was entertaining to me to see what they were saying. Not in the sense of "liking" it, but how stupid it was (they were).

Anyway, no more explaining to you. I am done being decent to you even when your are being decent because you can change at the drop of the hat. Not something I enjoy dealing with.. So, the next time you feel like insulting somebody for no reason, try biting that tongue. Or your fingers.

Yeah an MP 2400+ system is so archaic....What have you bought over the last 2-3 years of current cpus???

Why dont I go try to by a 1.6a northwood and say I am not an AMD fanboy....Ofcourse I am not cause I owned a P4 just over 1 year ago and have Intel laptops...
 
Sigh.. could anyone get any meaningfull analysis out of the comparisons that I posted above instead of flaming? It's not so encouraging here to see a fight right after I posted data I thought to be useful for some. Comments on semantics can be taken care of via PMs.

But is 3DMark really the way we would want to go in comparing CPU's? What about PCMark? Would that be better served to indicate CPU performance? Dunno how CPU dependant 3DMark is. Well at least 3DMark 2001SE. 03 and 05 are probably not good as they are much more GPU focused.

I really would like to see encoding, archiving, converting, DVD rips etc. etc. and any other CPU thrashing app/utility out there.

From your links though, it looks like it is difficult to tell because of the different graphics cards between the two platforms. But it does look like Merom is hammering real hard. I am not sure how superior an X1400 is to a 6200. I'm betting a lot.

Yeah too bad XS is down. I think there is only one server. It must be easy to overload, especially if there's like 15,000 people trying to view it.
 
I'm sure there are a bunch of sites that would host the results for him if he wanted 😛

Kinda annoyed that we don't know anything about whats going on. I assume there may have been some issue with getting it to work that has yet to resolve itself. Deffinitely glad i wasn't one of those fools who stayed up all night waiting for info.
 
There was no definite on the mobo, right??? Could be some issues there with the vRM or total bios compatability....

I am sure they will figure something out.....
 
I think the server has just been taken down.

As Las Vegas is where they are supposed to be based, this suggests that their ISP just cannot communicate with their server, due to it not being able to connect or communicate for what ever reason. Which would probably suggest that the server has down time, aka FUGGER or who ever has physically taken the server offline.
 
XS is back up and FUGGER says no Conroe results til Monday unless he hears from Intel first. Says he was not able to just drop the chip in the 975 board. It did not work. Waiting on "the powers that be" (Intel I guess) to see what needs doing.
 
If you check the screenshots I posted earlier, there is a test where both the A64 3Gs w/6200TC beat Merom 2G w/X1400. Game 1 High Detail. (3DMark01 SE) Both dual and single core A64s are leading in that specific test. Does anone know what it tests?

Well, both AMD's could be benefitting from the integrated memory controller and 2GB of RAM. Merom has 167 FSB and 512MB RAM. Don't really know if this would make a difference in 3DMark2001SE.
