If sports is so entertaining, why do most people fall asleep watching it, unless they have money on the line?

I enjoyed playing various sports, don't get me wrong, but watching it for hours and or listening to the amazing catches, passes, hits, ect, stories just bored me to tears after the first sentence. Like fishing stories about the whale that got away.

I find my interests are usually able to hold my interest, intelligent or not. I like variety, for the most part. Which is why I find OFF TOPIC to be interesting.:gift:

hahaha I find that hilarious OP. Everyone has their guilty pleasures. I think your roommate is awesome.

My kid brother who's in med school is a child genius and athlete (was in varsity everything, class vp, in HS; Didn't have to take MCAT, does research in orthopedics, competes in triathlons, well known in his community...blalhabhlbhlhlbhlabhabhlabhlbahlabhl), yet he loves fart jokes and is passionate about street fighter and farting on other people at random.

However, the first thing he did when he got home from class everyday was log onto the WWF (now WWE) website to read about the latest wrestling matches & gossip. He'd never miss WWE Raw or Smackdown & even took me to a few Wrestlemania's.

When talking about wrestling, he looks & sounds like a little kid! "Did you see when The Rock did the People's Elbow to Vince McMahon?! That was awesome!!!" And he actually means it. No sarcasm whatsoever!

This guy will do presentations to surgeons during the day & watch videos of John Cena laying the smackdown at night. He knows it's all an act, yet follows it fervently. Why!?!

Mind boggling.

At least he's not a soccer fan

We have a guy like that at work. He's the Director of Marketing, the guy makes bank, and he comes over to talk with the hens in Accounting about American Idol...

Winner.
Or perhaps masturbating?
(I'm surprised it wasn't said yet. Every thread should mention it at least once.)

And you know, I guess it could be called a "ritual sacrifice."
That's where the sperm come from, and they all die in the name of the plumbing gods.

Yeah, he's a great guy. I just mentioned it not because I have a problem with it, but I find it kinda .... quirky?

Shoot Em Up > *

Especially the sex scene. Where the guy kills a bunch of "jackholes" ;)

Heh, that's why he's the director of marketing.

Knows how to work people. All those hens jump to do something for him. He knows how to get things done. Good for him.

In being intelligent one should not be an elitest. Unfortunately most people who deem themselves intelligent, fail to recognize their mindless knee-jerk reactions.

Don't take life too seriously.

I consider myself to be intelligent. I am interested in academic things in my spare time, but I don't really like hanging out with people as intelligent as I am. I find them boring, I would find myself boring. I like people a little bit less intelligent than me.

Mindless knee-jerk reactions have been shown to be very effective at generating immediate, predictable responses in many people. If you were smarter, you'd realize this. ;)

(Yes, that is intended as a joke.)
