intelligence testing and voting

perhaps voting for politicians shouldn't require an FSIQ of 130, but simply similarities and information subtest scaled scores not less than 5/3 (i.e., ~1.67) SD above the average. IOW, votes should only count if they are from voters with info >=95% of the citizenry and who also have a fluid ability to interpret the info in at least the 95th percentile.

what are your thoughts on that? When dealing with political elections, i don't think that performance IQ, processing speed index, or vocabulary really matters.

After all, obama (whose similarity and knowledge subtest scores could only be in the ~99th percentile) got voted for by a lot of SFP women (many without having high similarity and high knowledge ability at the same time) due in large part to his cutesy (NTPs rank high on the cutesy scale as do all Perceiving types really).

of course my grandfather got mad when he saw (on TV) white women kissing him despite my grandfather being a long and narrow faced circular-cranial good looking perceiving type (ESFP even though tone deaf and color/contrast blind) himself. he died before Obama could be in office for one year due to everyone in the family being mean to him while trying to get his cash (and even trying to deny him good food, cold natural water, and cold natural air). Seeing my grandmother die slowly from alzheimer's (my dad decided to quit feeding her as she wished) certainly didn't help him. he is in my heart as a most loyal man and someone i apologize to for being nothin' but a dumb black ass/black heart to.

i will be banned or this will be locked. please try to understand though. and maybe one day you will please choose real, private transportation that will be better than choosing automatic or manual transmission. and if you keep confederalism, if you profit from the anti-Federalists good example, then you can profit from anything.

lol wtf does the bolded have to do with the original purpose of the post. Holy hell you are a mad man.

And if we required IQ tests for people to vote, we'd probably eliminate well over 50% of the population. Sure maybe it's a good thing, but that would never fly in any legal aspect.

Any time you start making tests for people to vote those tests are always twisted by those in power to make sure that only the 'right people' vote. Considering our country's horrible history with voter suppression let's just skip the whole voting test thing.

I also find it funny that everyone always assumes they would be one of those suitably qualified to vote.

If you asked at random 5 of the following 15 questions to anyone wanting to vote, you would never have another Democrat President of the United States? There are just too many low information voters on the left.

How long is the term of a U.S. Senator?
How long is the term for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives?
How long is the term of a U.S. President?
How long are Justices to the U.S. Supreme Court appointed?
Who is the current Majority Leader of the US Senate?
Who is the current Speaker of the House of Representatives?
Who is the current U.S. Secretary of State?
Who is the current Vice President of the U.S.?
Who is the current U.S. Attorney General?
Who is the current Governor of your state?
Which department of the Federal Government is responsible for collecting income taxes?
What is the name of one current U.S. Supreme Court Justice?
Who was the first President of the United States?
Which country attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941?
How many States are in the U.S.?

We live in a capitalist country where competition for economic viability involves the manipulation of the thoughts and feelings of millions of people. Wild monkeys would actually make better voters than the brainwashed organ grinding morons we have going to the polls. An intelligent and indoctrination immune people going to the polls here would cause the collapse of our civilization. The manufacture of millions of marching morons is required for the ever increasing concentration of wealth.

Two questions for you:

1. Why do you think knowing answers to trivia questions should be a prerequisite for citizens to have a say in who represents them?

2. Are you aware that levels of political knowledge are most highly associated with extreme partisanship? The independent, swing voters that everyone claims to want tend to be the lowest information voters.

Posting in an A420 thread.

A technocracy is unabashed classism.

You should be required to pass an intelligence test before you're allowed to run for office. After all, even the worse candidate should do no harm.

Why intelligence? Why not test musical ability? Use Briggs-Myers? Taste? Economics? Art appreciation?

Do you like jazz?
Compare and contrast Monet and Manet.
If Janet Yellen has five apples, how many apples can Janet hand out to the banks?

Yea, I'd really love to see these asked in the rural areas of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, etc. I'm sure those red voters would nail the answers 🙄

If you asked to voters on the right, there would never be a republican in the office again either.

Many of the questions used to be asked of people applying for US citizenship (in English)

How many States are in the U.S.?

Over 50, Obama said so. 😀

On the serious side, I am not worry about IQ but common sense. We have too many voters that have the entitlement attitude of "ask not what you can do for your country but what your country can you for you"...ie..where are my freebies.

"common sense" of course means "people who think like I do"

Think like me? Let see, these kinda famous guys think so:

If you’re born poor, it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it’s your mistake.

- Bill Gates

...ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

- JFK

Also, see my sig below, number 5.

I know, right. Like, "Where's my tax cut? I don't care about paying our bills." And then there are all those big corps looking for incentives, subsidies, and other handouts.

The right is just as guilty as the left of demanding free stuff. It may be different free stuff, but people on both sides are looking for handouts.

Keeping your own money isn't a handout.

(Unless, of course, you're a liberal who believes all money belongs to the govt and any you keep is a handout.)

Have seen similar things in the past.

I think Robert Heinlein had the idea of having a simple quadratic equation as a test, and if you can't solve it you can't vote, very long ago.

Reasoning comes at various levels of course.
