Hmm tough choice, i prefer amd (A64 over anything presHOT) and intel (good old Northwood anyday over any athlon XP)
U need to add a third option, ie whatever is best at the time, cause really i dont care what company made it as long as its suits my needs best.

Since most hardware enthusiasts are gamers, and since AMD thrashes Intel at gaming, and this is a hardware enthusiast site, the outcome of this poll should be a no-brainer.

Go and ask the regular joe sixpack, though...

I prefer AMD, but would not hesitate to pick up a new Intel chip if it ran cool and had great OC'ing potential for a decent price (aka their upcoming chips, which have me very interested)

Currently and probably indefinitely, at least until Intel shapes up, AMD. And Hperlite, Outel?????? Maybe I missed something. Via is stupid, and this is good to see periodical voting on CPUs. Did that address everything?

AMD. Intel will have to release an impressive and unquestionably superior cpu before I ever concider switching from AMD.

I'm currently running an X2, pentium-m, 2 pentium 4's, and a pentium D. In order from favorite to least favorite:
1. AMD X2 4200+ @2.618ghz
2. Pentium-M Dothan 1.6ghz @2.4ghz
3. 3.2Ghz ES P4 @ 3.45ghz
4. unknown P4 ES @ 3.38ghz can probably do higher once water cooled.
5. Pentium-D 830 @stock speeds, cause it runs like a flame thrower and doesn't OC at all.

its not to hard to tell what the results are if you just browse the forums for a while. you will notice that everyone has amd. maybe a few have intel.

I have a 570j which I like much better than the x2 I had, the kids have the 754 3400+ which is nice. Still like the 570j better!

Oh yea my lappy has the 1500m which never runs higher than 600mhz, damn that drives me nuts!

I like how the topic summary asks what you are running, and then the poll asks what you prefer but not necessarily what you're running, and THEN the original post asks what you are running. Anyways...

AMD desktop
Intel laptop

I choose whichever CPU is best for my needs come upgrade time.

Currently have an AMD X2 4400+, but my older computer has an Intel P4C.

Blind brand loyalty is for the idiots.

well. not surprised by these results at all.

it's not a surprise that people like intelia or whoever are always flamed and asked to be banned from this forum (yes he/she did post some useless bologna but still...)

that's one reason why i'm not liking AT so much these days.

AT really needs to split the cpu discussion forum into amd and intel...

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ here. Soon to be X2 of some sort. Perhaps gonna wait for X2 on the new socket 940.
