AMD man: I prefer AMD because tehir CPUs are faster, cooler and cheaper, do I need any more reasons?

Intel man: I prefer intel because...
...eehh....
...ehhh...
...I like the intel logo in my case...
...ehh...
...You buy a desktop or server intel CPU and also get a heater!! 2 for the price of 1...don't you think that's great!

I prefer AMD, but purchased Intel because its performance was actually better when I purchased the 2.4C instead of a Barton. I plan to purchase an AMD dual-core (preferably Opteron) processor within the next year or so.

nice comp! similar to mine (mobo cpu and hd wise). wow, exactly the same thing im going for! (see my sig)

have 3 AMD, a dual core workstation for my main rig, a value socket 754 sempron overclocked for casual stuff, and an old xp 1800+ for my linux box. Sold all my Intel stuff, somehow they fetch better money locally or on ebay (not on anandtech for sure, heh) even if they don't perform as well, go figure.

Oh but still have the Intel Laptop, which is the only area that Intel can still claim better feature/performance.

I have an intel 3.4Ghz (prescott) oc'ed to 3.8Ghz with 2GB of RAM. I have it running with no swap file and boy is it fast! I especially like the Hyperthreading on it, it really makes a difference in allowing me run several intensive programs at once. Whenever my system hangs, I'm still at 45% CPU usage instead of 99% ... I like it.
What I hate is the heat ...

However ... I'd give my first unborn son for an AMD 64 X2. I'm saving up :]
