It seems Intel is still waging a war of transistors and barely making their mark.
I have to wonder. If additional transistors could've been used to bump speeds, why didn't they create an almost 7 GHz P-core? Let's call this 7 GHz beast core, well, Beast Cove. So,
Halo chip configuration:
4 Beast Coves
8 Lion Coves
16 Skymonts
That could've been the 40 core beast CPU Intel really needed. They don't care about the size of their die and power cost. So why didn't they go all in? It's kind of like spending over $1000 for a laptop but saving $200 to get 16GB RAM instead of 32GB. Dumb move.
