News Intel GPUs - we've given up on B770, where's Celestial already

LOL look at the response tech support gave this guy for his A770

Tanaka thinks a 1070ti is faster than an ARC A770? 😂

Looks like a form letter with "insert card name here"...

Bethesda isn't a charity. It's an understandable answer. If you wrote a normal, generic shader and it works on Nvidia and AMD then... well... Intel is the odd man out. And it isn't your problem unless they have market share.

And really shows why they'd be happier if everyone went to consoles. You have a few set targets with consoles, with PC it's endless mix of CPU/GPU combos.

It went viral.

There's a bunch more that picked the story up. Tanaka is probably on the hot seat now. Guess they need to update those flow charts and form letters.

Why are people having trouble understanding it’s not about the hardware it’s about it being an unsupported card.
Should they support some Chinese white box knockoff gpu from wish that’s says it’s equal to a 4090?
I like inte making cards, they haven’t sold that many as of now.

ETAprime tested the same model of A380 I have. His is more a quick and dirty with a faster platform. For example: He used FSR instead of XeSS in Spiderman MM which makes no sense other than maybe an fps boost at the expense of lower image quality. he could have tweaked 2077 and kept XeSS on quality instead of balanced. XeSS looks better than FSR on ARC in both MM and 2077.

My experience with Spiderman MM is here - https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...mes-tested-and-counting.2612941/post-41063428

The white outline I mentioned around his suit? Turned out it was me being a big dummy. It was the suit I had equipped. It isn't there with other outfits.

The games made it a serious hot deal. There was nothing else NIB that could touch it for $99.

Thanks for the update!

It doesn't make sense if you have any modern integrated graphics, but it looks like a great budget option for people with an older PC who want basic gaming, or better video decode.

(I remember upgrading my girlfriend's PC from NForce integrated graphics to a dirt cheap HD6450, just so that we could watch video smoothly on it. She married me, so I guess she liked the upgrade)

Yeah comparing Intel, a huge company with Dev relations with most of the large game developers vs some random Chinese company is… stupid
Fair enough I’m simply saying they don’t have the market share at this time. Let’s all support them so they do in the near future and maybe we will get a third player in the market. Current duopoly is doing what duopolies do, one expensive market leader and another that does most of what the market leader does for a little less money.

ETAprime gave the same treatment to the ASRock A770 16GB. I would like him to test RT and XeSS more.

Oh, the cake/case is still a lie. 😉

We recently got a i5-13500 for the office, and the driver installed intel ARC control. The stupid thing hooks ALT+i/o/h and you cannot disable or remap them. Are we serious? lol

It got uninstalled without a second thought.

Meanwhile, I was pressing alt+h on another program and the instruction was not passing obviously and I was getting a message about something getting recorded, which is what alt+h does in ARC control. The funny thing is that along with that system, we got a Windows 11 installation and I thought it was Windows 11 fault, lol.

This is an issue for a long time now, from what i gathered from the net. Good job intel, good job.

I want to get an A380 for that system. Is Intel ARC mandatory or should I forget about it?

@DAPUNISHER woukd you be kind enough to try this out

No rush it’s just something I’d like to mess with
I have zero interest in that use case. Best bet is join r/IntelARC and ask there. Some of the members are doing great work and testing.

I am an Starfield addict now, so haven't been using either of my ARC builds.

But but but DLSS noooooooooo
I’m fine with Xess. The latest version (1.2) is more or less comparable to DLSS. The only downside is that it’s not as performant on Nvidia GPUs since it’s the DP4A version.

Although I’ve got to say if it does indeed launch exclusively with Xess there’s no proof they are blocking FSR/DLSS! They’re just so busy and it’s hard to verify all of these different upscalers.

Wonder if CapFrameX will say the same thing lol
I was being sarcastic / bad faith. If it does launch exclusively with Xess I’m like 99% sure it’d be the sponsorship blocking DLSS/FSR support. It’s dumb and they shouldn’t do that since I’d prefer to run DLSS but it is what it is.

I’m hoping they backpedal on that decision or at the very least include DLSS/FSR in a game update within a month of release.
