YMMV on MicroCenter. I was just there today and overhead a guy in the hardware department take a call. He said they were holding them until the 23rd, but he said to check back tomorrow anyway. He also said MicroCenter will pricematch CPUs to online prices, so keep a look out for E8400s <$189 at a recognizable etailer...

I can confirm the Microcenter in Marietta, Ga has them. Based on this thread, I drove over there after work to check it out. There were about 15 of them on the shelves, all with various "pack dates". It was kind of funny that the sticker on the actual box itself listed the price as $240 while the actual price was $190. Mine came out to $201 after tax, not bad considering I was debating pre-ordering it at $215.
Now that I have the most elusive part, I'll start ordering the rest of my parts for my new build later this week.
Oh, I should have mentioned that, sorry. I went to the Santa Clara, CA location. Another weird thing...they also have the Phenom 9700 ($334?) on their printed price list?! I thought those were delayed.Originally posted by: jaredpace
which microcenter did you goto kidsafe?
I love MicroCenter. Their CPU prices are almost always competitive with 'web' prices, and they seem to have everything I want that Fry's doesn't.Originally posted by: bucd
Nice to to be able to see these locally and with pretty good prices.
