I mention the benchmark because that is what most people and sites use when testing the game.My apologies, I see what's happened here. You and I are reaching our percentages via different methods. I took the percentage out of the 4960X's score, so I would have called the 4960X's 'advantage' closer to 30%.
I can't even remember whether Absolution had a built in benchmark, but since when were those kinds of benchmarks useful for anything. They seldom represent anything close to a 'worst case scenario', and clearly the reviewers aren't all using that same benchmark, so I don't see what relevance you saying you got 70fps minimum in the built in benchmark has to anything.
I think I sold my gear before the 'wonder driver' came out, so I'll be interested to see how Absolution performs with it.
yeah those last 2 drivers made a massive difference. min went from 51 to 72 fps in bench.
btw the setting that is cpu intensive in that game is reflections. if you turn that down to low it helps out a bit in the actual game.
thats why its stupid to test cpus on low settings as some settings impact the cpu. for cpu testing run the highest setting except no AA and use a lower res. that will eliminate gpu limitation and show what a particular cpu is capable of.
