Intel CPU prices on the move...Down that is!!!

Notice the chip prices down as much as 10-15 bucks from a day ago....I think this is in preview of the 3.06ghz p4 to be launched in about 2 weeks....I think the 2.53ghz in two weeks should be under 200 bucks.

Will INtel launch a 2.933ghz at same time as 3.06ghz??? If so will this have the 2.8ghz drop to sub 300 levels like the 2.53ghz P4 did when the 2.8ghz arrived.....

Does anyone have links to news reports of upcoming intel pricing???

Not doing anything until the 3.06GHz chip gets below $200, so the faster they fall the sooner I'll be able to upgrade 🙂

Dammit Duvie where were you a couple 'o days ago when I bought my 2.4B 6EF from Newegg for a 189$!?! 😉
bah! the only chips that matter are the "disposable" cheap chips ~ 1.8A and 2.26B
I'd agree except when I bought my 1.6A on Feb.12th it was 148$ for a CPU capped@2.4ghz so the 50$ for the C1 2.4B feels cheap as well 🙂

That's right!!! Where were you on Thursday when I paid $135 for 2.53??!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
In a few weeks the price will drop on that 2.8 that didn't want to pay $270 for 🙂 🙂

Yeah!!! I would have been all over that...Was that a hot deals type thing??? And if so why didn't somebody post a link to it here???:|

Sorry, guy.
If it was a hot deal, I'd post it right up.
I bought, since our company is authorized Intel's reseller.
Each one of them can buy one CPU of each kind at discount
prices, So, it cost me $122 plus tax.

I could've got 2.8 for $251 plus tax but decided to get this instead.
After Intel cuts their prices, I might sell it to someone I know,
since we can't sell it for 6 month and get me 2.8,
unless someone else from my company wants that 2.8

could this be the straw that broke AMDs back?

Sounds kinda inflammatory to me. I hope it isn't true, otherwise we can all bend over for more overpriced P4 cpu's from Intel. Just a thought, looks like newegg has some 1700+ thoroughbred revision B cpu's for $75. If it pans out then that's gonna be 2.2GHz Athlon performance for dirt cheap.
Of course Intel has done their job and the general public will never realize that they don't have to pay upward of $200 to get a truly fast cpu. I still prefer AMD and that is motivated by price, AMD has it and Intel doesn't! But when it comes to good advertising (or misleading the public😉), Intel has it and AMD doesn't!

well that xbitlabs article is date nov 1st and states that price cuts would be official on nov 10th. Today is 11th and no offical word on price cuts 🙁

Not starting a AMD vs Intel debate here, but I'll take two Athlon MPs over two Pee4 Xeons.

Go here to check out a member of my forum's specs (ignore the fact that it's in a rack, you can get the same results without the rack).

He has two Athlon MP2200+ OC'ed to 2025 MHz. I'd rather get two 1600s and OC them than spend $300 a chip for Xeons.

Yeah I saw that article on Xbit also. Strange...I don't see any changes in prices on Googlegear's site. They are the same as yesterday. And Newegg....their 2.53ghz P4 has gone UP to $241. Yesterday it was at $238.

A bit strange. Maybe they're trying to make a couple extra bucks before they are forced to change the prices. And does this price change affect current stock, or only newly purchased "one thousand units". Thats a lot of units.

🙂
