Not an i5 or i7, but a great deal for a Sandy Bridge CPU and Motherboard.

Note: It doesn't reflect the discounts if you add the bundle to your shopping cart, the discounts only apply in store according to the terms. I am going to head to my local MC today to see what happens.

Great deal but I see Cambridge only has one of those boards in stock at the moment so I guess I'm going to wait.

Curious about the H61 chipset on the mobo.
Too bad I'm in Phoenix for a visit. I won't be back in MN until the 8th next month.
Kinda wish I could find this in mini-itx. With this kind of TDP it could be a real space saver.

IIRC the H61 has two dimm slots and no provision for raid plus 2 or 4 less usb ports.

Anyone verify?

The thread on sd confirms this as well as no AHCI. I assume this means no TRIM support?

It's a 30 minute drive for me from Burlington, but I'm tempted to get it for the chip at least. Can I order online and pick it up for the bundle price?

Yes you can. They will hold it up to 3 days.

Yeah I'm blind.

h61 DOES have ahci.

h61 compared to h67 is no raid, 2 dimms, and no sata3. that is all.

From what I've read on sd, it's supposed to have ahci, but that it doesn't. E.g.

OMG I bought this for $155 last week. However be warned that this motherboard does not have AHCI or RAID even though its advertised as having it. I tried contacting MSI about the issue and they told me to update the BIOS which honestly didnt do a damn thing.

Hows that work, do they charge you for the bundle price even though the cart says $169 plus tax?

They don't charge you when you place your order online. When you get in the store to pick it up they charge you then. I do this all the time to make sure they are holding one for me @ the store 6 miles down the road.

Thanks for the advice. I placed an order, but no confirmation yet. Also, the mb is out of stock now. Let's see if I got it or not.

Regardless of how budget that motherboard might be, this is certainly a very hot deal. I wish I was back home to get my hands onto one of these, my A64 4400+ could use an upgrade 🙁

OOS at Chicago/Westmont and 12 left at Chicago/Central. An hour ago Central was listed at 20+ so they're selling out quick. Heck, if I lived closer I'd get a combo just because! I was going to upgrade my HTPC to a Core i3 550 with MSI H55 board I got in earlier deals, but this is tempting even if it would be a side-grade to my not-yet-upgrade.
