might help for you to list what kind of card you're installing. The benchmarks at Toms Hardware regarding PCI-e bandwidth show that PCI-e 8x has enough bandwidth to last to moderately high resolutions with current mainstream gpus (bar 5870 and X2 cards)

I get ya, but modding the motherboard would allow any future video card to work vs. having to mod every card that you get. Seems a bit simpler as well.

Amen. Does notching the card even work? Cutting through the PCIe slot is simply cutting through plastic; there's little risk involved.

next time use the edit button instead of quintuple-posting :p

and a 2600pro will not come anywhere close to using any of bandwidth on an 8x pci-e

I thought this was a joke thread. I still sort of do, but I'm also confused now.

LOL. No Joke I notched the card with a drill. I held the card next to the slot and just marked where the notch would need to be.
