SNES. i dont like the feel of ps1/2. n64's layout was very good, but the quality was crap. I must've gone thru 5 of them. SNES was/is the perfect controller, not as complicated or overly fancy like today's controllers, more ergonomic than NES and genesis, and DURABLE. i used to make like randy johnson throwing mine all over the place, and never broke a single one.

I like the GameCube's controller (especially the WaveBird) - good button layout for most games, the best analog sticks I've used, and good feel on the shoulder buttons. The only problem with it IMO is the d-pad.

The Xbox S controller's d-pad is much better. I don't like the button layout or "feel" quite as much as the GameCube's, though.

I like the PS2's button layout (4 shoulder buttons are great for certain games) but I don't think the controller is as ergonomic as the others, plus I've always had problems with the shoulder buttons sticking.

SNES.

I find the XBOX controllers to be extremely awkward. I can never find the black and pearl buttons when I need them, and I usually end up hitting start instead. 🙁

Yeah I had the same problem with the Xbox controller, and the damn thing is huge and ungainly...I don't get how it's so popular.

snes was pretty good, but after a long time of playing your hands got sore. same goes for the gamecube controller. my fav would have to be the n64.

None.

These game controllers nowadays are just beyond me. I must be old.

Besides, real games require a keyboard, and/or mouse, and/or Joystick. 🙂

n64 had awesome controllers.

PS2 also have the best controllers of the current gen of consoles. its definately simpler than the gc and xbox controls and easier to use.

xbox ones are way too big for me.

I think its a tie between 2 controllers.

SNES
MS Sidewinder (I guess its like the Saturn Controller?)

Both are really durable, have great button placements and they just seem to fit my hands perfectly.

For fighting/sports games, I think its a tossup between the Saturn controllers (US and Jap were both pretty decent) and the Microsoft Sidewinder GamePad (6 buttons) (Callus forever!) (SNES was nice too, but the D-pad wasn't always 100% accurate, at least for me)

For newer games like FPS's and TPS's and the like I really like the Dreamcast controller and the Xbox Japanese-S controller. (Japanese-S controller is very similar to the US S controller but the buttons have a different feel to them which makes a big difference to me).

Overall, if I had to take any controller, I think it'd have to be the Dreamcast controller!

The PSX controller just works so well with your hand, only four bottons on the face and the rest on the back. It is a perfect layout for my fingers. The six buttons on the front of my wingman rumblepad are just too much.
