Injured my Quadratus Lumborum

Way back in mid June i injured my Quadratus Lumborum. Its taking a very long time to heal but its on its way, ideally i'd like to see a physiotherapist about it, but don't particularly want to be spending £30 an hour on treatment..

I've been using ice on it, and been doing lower back stretches and light exercise to get blood through it. which is helping slowly but surely. I've also been doing some myofacial release on it and used this video as a guide to some treatment. This has all helped but its now been 3 odd months and its not completely better.

If there are any sports injury specialists or physiotherapists or even if you've had an injury in this muscle any advice would be appreciated, as i'm starting to get worried about permanent damage if it isn't treated properly.

What WC said. I'm lucky in that a good friend of mine is in PT school and is about to start clinicals soon...she's been helping me with my aches and pains. Just get it checked out...might be covered under your insurance. At least go for one session...they can recommend exercises you can do on your own.

Absolutely. You do not want to risk permanent injury or even lengthened injury because you didn't want to go to the doctor. If you have health insurance, you can check what benefits you get. Really though, you gotta find out some exercises from a professional. They will help you out and I will bet you your quality of life will improve.

Well firstly i'm not in the US, so no health insurance, and sports injuries aren't covered by the NHS so the doctor won't refer me to a sports injury specialist, the only advice they're giving me is to take Ibuprofen 3 times daily for a month, which i'm not really prepared to do.
I'm a student so i don't really have alot of money for numerous treatments. But i could go for one and see what they're saying i suppose..

It's not debilitating so much, its just quite stiff sometimes and it spasms every so often. It's got to the point where i can comfortably squat now, just not very deep.
