I've having a hard time whipping up sympathy.

My son (And this is mostly my fault) somehow got into my PS2 memory card. He thought watching the files disappear was a game.
I lost YEARS of saved data. GTA saves, Castlevania on the second character, GT files, FF files...ALL gone.

It was seriously so tragic for me I havent played the PS2 since.

I''m not asking for sympathy cuz I cant even bring myself to play Oblivion right now, but moreover venting my frustration here instead of punching him in the face.

And I know it was revenge what I did but I dont care I only have to live with him til Monday

I was just trying to make you feel better.
Imagine losing years of saved games. :(

I'd lock the kid in my basement until he played through and managed to replace all my accomplishments in all those games. :D

if you could report back with his reaction to the erasing, that'd be great. thanks!

Yep he already found out he was fairly pissed off as well. I told him what goes around comes around. He glared. I said dont ever go in my room when I'm gone(guess I'll be locking my bedroom door now) And I told him if he ever touched my computer again without asking I'd tear his balls off and feed them to his dog. So now his gamecube is stashed away in his room and the issue is done....yea we yelled and screamed but....guess we both learned our lessons

 (not to the vengeance, but to the closure :D)

All these roommate threads make me glad I live alone. I have to wonder about the sanity, however, of someone who lives with others and allows them access to their PC.

First, that's not poetic justice, learn what it is before you use the term.

Second, how old are you? 12?

Agreed. Computers & the internet are like a minefield for 99% of people. If you let some clueless noob have access to your PC, you're at fault when they screw it up. It's like giving an infant a pistol and punishing them when it goes off.

Yea it was immature of me but with the amount of crap I've had to put up with living with him I dont even care at this point and he knows it. He's destroyed a number of our kitchen utensils that were mine, destroyed two of my nice copper bottomed stainless steel pots, nearly burnt the place down on at least 4 different occasions etc etc....so yea I really dont care how immature my action was. Small price for him to pay considering he never refunded me or bought new items for the things he destroyed. Like I said I move out in 5 days this was just like a coup de grace and pushed me to the point of seeking revenge/being an a$$hole

EDIT: And yes I was stupid for not hitting Windows key + L when I walked away from my computer for gas and taco bell, but i also didnt think he'd go in my room when I was gone and the door was closed.

No, the lesson is to NOT let an idiot touch your computer without you being there.

I had 250 the first time through! Each save is like only 2 megs.

Anyways, you should make multiple user accounts on your computer. One for you, and one for guests when you're not there.

Cattlegod posted this in a similarly named tread that is now locked.

My roommate left for a short period, so I decided to try Oblivion real quick to see what it was like. I accidently deleted over his autosave file and I didn't realize it.

THEN HE GOES AND DELETES MY FRIGGING GAME CUBE CARD!!

WTF

he lost only about 30 game hours, I would have helped level his guy up, but I have probably 300 hours logged into that gamecube card!

WTF an eye for 10 eyes?

man, at least mine was an accident.

He can't post and defend himself here because you got the computer?
Or are you the same person??

what you did is probably worse than what he did.
at least he probably accidentally saved over your files (2 files of 1 game).
but you went ahead and delete all his saved files.

So you did the same thing compared to him. How does that make you feel? I think you're an immature person if you use revenge to solve your problems. Try using password protection, like others suggested, next time.

Actually like I posted earlier it's not just this and all year long I didnt say anything I just accepted his crappy apologies and didnt say anything when he didnt pay me retribution or just plain buy replacements for the things he destroyed. I just finally reached a point where I snapped, revenge isnt usually my thing but this was just the last straw.
