ING Direct paying 4%??

My friend claims she opened a regular savings account with ING Direct, and is getting a 4% APR with a $25 bonus. Is this what everyone else is getting? Isn't the fed rate not much higher than that?

Ok.. Break down why I should have my money in ING Direct.. I keep 5 sep accounts

Paypal account
My Personal Slush fund Checking
My Wife & I's Checking
My Wife & I's Savings
My Wife & I's Investment acct.

Should I move my paypal/slush to an ING acct?

You wont be able to write checks out of ING as it is a savings account not a checking account.

Is it worth getting the ING account for whatever amount of money, low or high? i was just lookign for a new savings account yesterday and i want money transfer from my bank account weekly to save for emergencies or just save in general?

It sure as hell beats having a regular savings account at your local bank.

Move your saving to ING. Very low service charges, good interest rates.
What service charges? I opened my savings account with ONE dollar, and they gave me $50. I left that balance in there for about a year with no service charge.

Now there's a lot more in there. 🙂
