Neither and definently NOT any othes suggested in this thread, do you have the time to build them on your own.

NO system is good with a really sood center and quite frankly, while the pitch and bass are kinda ok, a mid range setup is what makes the difference between bam and dit.

I have no idea what that means, to assemble it after getting the parts ould take you what, an hour?

You don't by the things raw, you get it cut and if can manage a screwdriver then you'll be fine.

Out of the two worthess setups you did mention in your OP i'll state neiter.

If you want to pay a premium price for bs parts, be my fsking guest but i won't contribut to it, fair enough?

I love my polk ex693's and dx-12 subs...mmm polk........can't break em...the subs are incredibly loud, and also very clear, and the 6x9's are wooonderful...I'm a total polk fanboy now

I have boston acoustic for computer speakers and love them....

Ok, well i went out looking around today...

Polk DB570's sounded good, but the BA's didnt sound as good as i remembered...

I then came across the Polk MMC570's and they were superb, even had an external crossover. Only problem is the tweeter apparently sticks out 1/8" too far (according to Crutchfield).

Think Sound Advice could make it fit?

Also, is the F240 amp (at 35-40w per channel) too weak for those speakers with a 60w continuous rating?

Go to a store with a CD you like and listen to each for a long time and decide that way. I can't tell you what sounds better to your ears...

And if you're basing this on what you read on the internet, there are plenty of (almost) internet-only brands that are equal or better than these for around the same price

Im hot and im bored, something post something of value to this thread 😀

On another note, will i need to get one of those Yellow Top batteries or possibly a cap?

i have infinity kappa perfects.. it's the best bang for the buck u will spend in your life!! =)

Infinity
AMP: Infinity 7541a - $135 (111w per channel x 4 channels)
FRONT: Infinity Kappa Perfect6.1 - $155 (6.5" Components)
REAR: Infinity KAPPA682.7CF - $58 (5x7)
Total = $348

Polk
AMP: Polk C400.4 - $185 (75w per channel x 4 channels)
FRONT: Polk MMC6500 - $133 (6.5" Components)
REAR: Polk db570 - $46 (5x7)
Total = $364

Which setup would you go for?

With the infinity setup, the amp only puts out 75w per channel, while the MMC6500's seem to need 125w/channel continuous.... I could just get the amp from infinity with the Polk's....

Actually, I think it is.

With car audio, you get what you pay for and honestly, you have to let your ears decide. Especially for mids/tweets. Go listen to both and decide. It's the only advice a car audio enthusiast can give.

Some people have complained the kappa perfects are a little too bright and lack midbase, do you agree?

Also, what amp ya running them off of?

I cant listen to either, no stores anywhere near me sell either of them.

well then, and sorry to be harsh, you shouldn't buy them.

never buy audio gear you haven't auditioned.

-edit- but yeah, infinity tend to be more sizzly/bright and polks more midrange/midbass. But it doesn't matter as you could easily prefer one over the other no matter what the cost.

Wow, jsut re-read your post. Either way, your amp is going to suck.

Also, skip the rear speakers. Leave them stock and getter a better 2 channel amp and better fronts.

And for what you are doing, 4x50 watts will be more than enough. Find a used PPI amp on EBAY:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dl...e&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=

As long as it's not fired, the sound will be better than anything you are gettting new for $200. And time doesn't degrade an amp's sound quality that much. It's a different story for speakers though, they wear with time so you are best served buying new speakers. Take the remainder of your $350 after gettting your used EBay amp. Go to car audio stores and try out various componenents and let your ears decide.

Oh boy ... I see your dilema. Honestly, you simply have to go try what you can get locally, even if you don't buy them locally. You have to atleast audition them.

Oh, if you go EBay, never buy things "as is" . I was looking over some of the auctions in my link and thought I'd mention this. That's liek saying, "I know it's fried and you will pay to have it fixed"

These are all brand new components direct from the manuf. (i.e. Polk and Infinity). My old manager is hooking me up, all of these im getting for roughly 60-70% off.

For Instance the Polk Amp sells new for $449, i pay $183.
Infinity Kappa Perfect6.1 sells new for $399, i pay $155.
