NO system is good with a really sood center and quite frankly, while the pitch and bass are kinda ok, a mid range setup is what makes the difference between bam and dit.

Infinity
AMP: Infinity 7541a - $135 (111w per channel x 4 channels)
FRONT: Infinity Kappa Perfect6.1 - $155 (6.5" Components)
REAR: Infinity KAPPA682.7CF - $58 (5x7)
Total = $348
Polk
AMP: Polk C400.4 - $185 (75w per channel x 4 channels)
FRONT: Polk MMC6500 - $133 (6.5" Components)
REAR: Polk db570 - $46 (5x7)
Total = $364
Which setup would you go for?
With the infinity setup, the amp only puts out 75w per channel, while the MMC6500's seem to need 125w/channel continuous.... I could just get the amp from infinity with the Polk's....

Actually, I think it is.
With car audio, you get what you pay for and honestly, you have to let your ears decide. Especially for mids/tweets. Go listen to both and decide. It's the only advice a car audio enthusiast can give.

Wow, jsut re-read your post. Either way, your amp is going to suck.
Also, skip the rear speakers. Leave them stock and getter a better 2 channel amp and better fronts.
And for what you are doing, 4x50 watts will be more than enough. Find a used PPI amp on EBAY:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dl...e&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=
As long as it's not fired, the sound will be better than anything you are gettting new for $200. And time doesn't degrade an amp's sound quality that much. It's a different story for speakers though, they wear with time so you are best served buying new speakers. Take the remainder of your $350 after gettting your used EBay amp. Go to car audio stores and try out various componenents and let your ears decide.

These are all brand new components direct from the manuf. (i.e. Polk and Infinity). My old manager is hooking me up, all of these im getting for roughly 60-70% off.
