Infiniti G37S

I'm thinking about ditching the '05 GTO and getting one, but I'm not sure if I'm going to actually go through with it. I test drove the 6spd with nav and sport packages and liked it.

So I'm wondering if anyone here owns one and still likes the car after driving it for some time. What do you think, do your friends like the car, do chicks dig it, etc...? I read the reviews, but am more looking for personal feeling.

Thanks for any input! 🙂

Update: Bought the 335i coupe. Black metallic exterior, black leather interior with the brushed aluminum finish. It has everything except the adaptive cruise control and the active steering. $48K + tax/license. $0 down, and payments are something like $970/mo, yikes, lol.

Anyone want to buy an '05 GTO?

a good friend of mine has a g37s, 5spd auto every option minus nav.

he's had it for 7 months now, overall i've been in and drove it multiple times. luxury it's great, and its a pretty quick car.

the GTO is in a different class, it's faster hands down and really is an american muscle.

could you handle going from that deep rumble to a highly tuned v6?

i have a 2006 mustang GT and am about to get a 2000 z8 camaro.

i really like his car and would take it for the right price, but i looovvee american muscle.

He got a strong deal, about 37k for it total w/ 2.9% for 60 mos

The GTO interior I would assume is nicer and would aloso assume the back seat is more usable in the GTO. This was the case in GTO vs G35.

I've only been in G35 coupes & GTO's so I can't compare to a G37.

I stick with the GTO.

Pontiac has a nicer interior than an Infiniti? Are you serious? (I have no exp w/either car, I'm just amazed by that statement)

I wouldn't say its nicer than the G37's, but it's not far behind. Take a look at some pics and see for yourself.

GTO

G8 concept != GTO

GTO interior is not as nice as the G37's. However, something about the G37's interior just doesn't sit right with me, even though I can't really place what it is.

Today I test drove a 335i coupe, and I'm thinking that I like it better than the G37S. It certainly pulled harder on acceleration, and it's also a great looking car.

keep gto. you see less around, it's faster and sounds better.

But it's not as nice of a car, and while it's extremely fast and sounds great (headers and Corsa exhaust), it's rattling in various places and things are starting to go wrong with it. It's also a dude magnet, not a chick magnet, as almost every day I get some random guy asking if it's really fast, and so forth. Women simply do not care about it.

I'm single, with a six figure income. The cost of gas matters, but not so much that I'm going to go out and buy a hybrid tomorrow.

Whoops, they look so similar and it came up on the GTO search... didn't even see it in the link...

Anyway... who cares what the interior looks like when you could be doing this

Pussy attraction wise: BMW>Infiniti

Yeah, BMW>Infiniti as far as name goes to chicks, even though I know many girls like the look of the G35. I think everyone and their grandma drives a G35 nowadays, IIRC the G37 still looks similar to G35, right?

they actually look quite different IMO:
G35
G37

OP, 135i perhaps? or maybe an A5? i know those are in completely different classes, just throwing out ideas. 🙂

The standard front fascia for the G37 is the same or very similar to the G35. The front air dam pictured above for the G37 is available with the sport package. The G35 and G37 are very similar, with just minor visible differences.

My choice is most likely going to be a 335i.

I guess you really can't buy taste! 🙂 j/k. I think you're comparing some pretty nice cars here.

G37 does a few things well, certainly better than a GTO in terms of near-luxury but the interior is still sort of cheap feeling, especially when you consider it costs almost 40k.

If the money really isn't a concern, I can't see why you wouldn't go for the 335. Its a great car for everything but the price tag.

Seriously though, most women aren't going to care what you drive at all, unless it's something that is truly unique on the road. Even then, for most, it'll be a passing interest in what you drive. Buy something you like to drive, because for the most part, you're the only one that's going to care about it.

Another car to consider is the new CTS. It's certainly not going to be the fastest of any of the above, but it'll push the G37, and the interior is probably the best of any of the cars mentioned. IMHO, its the best looking, but that's entirely subjective to the individual.

IIRC, the CTS is the only American competitor in this market segment. It may be a perfectly good car with excellent build quality and so forth (I don't know, as I haven't read any reviews on it), but the looks just don't do it for me.

I'd say the 335 is the car for you if you can drop 45-50k on it, then. If you're considering a G37, might as well get a used G35 coupe and save some money. Look at both, there's not much of a compelling reason to buy a G37 unless you want it to be new and it has to be a coupe.

The 335 has no real competition if you've decided you can afford it. Post some pics when you buy, I'd love to have one of those cars!

What about an Audi S4 in the 40-50K range.

Doesn't have that "douchbag" image a lot of people think BMWs have, nicer interior, better build, no turbos to worry about.

One thing I like about the 335 is the ability to mod it, but who wants to do that to a new car and void the warranty?

man if money doesnt matter, get the Audi S5. Yea it's much more expensive, and not as fast as the M3, but IMO it is the BEST looking car out there right now
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3792661

god that car is sexy!

edit: if the S5 is too much, then go for the A5 with the sportline package. But IMO the 335i is a better buy than the A5 for the price. 335i is a damn sexy car too. BMW did this one right for sure.

actually, i just built the S5 and it came out to 53K which is in the ballpark of the 335i. If you're seriously considering the 335i, take a look at the S5 also
