Please stop with the gloom and doom prophecies you were told to expect by your Earth Day supporting and tree clinging elementary school teacher. A recent panel of scientists concluded that radiation and fallout risks resulting from a full scale nuclear war between Pakistan and India for regions other than the immediate South Asian continent would be "vanishingly small".if they want to go to war, then let them, but for god's sake, don't bring in the fookin nukes :/ not only will millions die, but the earth will suffer more (global warming + pollutants + radiation + etc)
Experts say radiation fallout is unlikely to pose an immediate danger beyond South Asia.
We performed HUNDREDS of nuclear tests and so did the former Soviet Union, the world-wide effects are so small they are difficult to measure. An international panel estimated the result was an additional 800 cases of cancer every year. WOAH! Out of the hundreds of thousands of new cancer cases diagnosed every year, our nuclear testing programs are responsible for about 800 of them.Worldwide, immediate impacts probably would not be great. The bombs would eject some radiation into the upper atmosphere, which would circulate in the northern hemisphere. However, this radiation rapidly decays, McKinzie said, to about one percent of its original strength in the first 48 hours. He noted there is still radiation circling the earth from the above-ground nuclear testing programs of the 1950s and 60s.
And you're scared of a few more explosions, as if the earth will forever be uninhabitable again. You can come out from under your bed, now. Nothing to see here, move along...
