6th sense.

first video of iron man and I knew it would fail. The hulk game looks on spot.

I'd say 75-85 (80) across the board. Will see how accurate I am.

63 Metacritic Score with four reviews. High is 70 (Team Xbox). Low is 58 (1UP).
Seems the biggest short coming is that it is too much like UD.

so it's UD with next gen graphics, physics, AI, details, etc? That's awesome! That's the thing I hated the most about UD was that it had REALLY poor graphics and poor framerates. But awesome gameplay. So now it can be the best of both.

I wouldn't mind dropping $60 on a next gen upgrade of one of my favorite superhero games.

anyway, gtaIV is a lot of like gta3 (it feels dated) and it still scored extremely well.

the great news about movie games is that they go on clearance fast and have a short shelf life. So good deals are to be had.

If anyone was considering getting the PC version, be aware that just like Iron Man, Hulk is a PS2 port and nothing like the X360/PS3 versions people are actually enjoying.

That explains the price anyways. I looked around, and man are the people that bought it for PC pissed off, and rightfully so. It was mentioned by one user that you can't even change the res in game. With so many notebooks and budget DTs with IGP, I thought- they must have decided to go with bare minimum system specs to help widen the potential market, but I saw the admin at the Sega forums post this-

PC specs:

Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP

Processor: 2.0 Gigahertz Intel/AMD CPU with SSE Instruction support

Memory: 512MB RAM

Optical Drive: 8x Speed DVD-ROM drive (1200KB/sec sustained transfer rate) and latest drivers

Disk Space: 1.8 GB

Sound Card: 100% DirectX® 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card and latest drivers

Input Devices: 100% Windows® 2000/XP compatible mouse, keyboard and latest drivers. XInput based controllers.

DirectX: DirectX® 9.0c for Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP.

Graphics Card: Hardware accelerated video card with pixel and vertex shader version 2.0 support. 128MB of Video Memory with the latest drivers. Must be 100% DirectX® 9.0c compatible.

That can't be minimum, has to be recommended. Otherwise it is an even bigger SNAFU by Sega.

It definitely looks like a PS2 game, so I'm not sure where the systems specs come into play.
It is true that you can't change the resolution in game, you do it at the splash type screen when you run the game.
It really doesn't matter what resolution you play at, the gameplay and graphics are terrible.

Here is my initial impressions of Incredible Hulk- after approximately 3hrs of game play *mostly free roam mode* I grew up reading Hulk comics, and usually fall for anything Hulk related. So, blame people like me for games like this.

It does try to incorporate Ultimate Destruction in many aspects, it just failed to reach UD's level of fun game play. It also borrows elements from CrackDown and Superman Returns for 360. Despite what sounds like a "2 out of 3 ain't bad" winning formula, this game deserves the low scores it is receiving.

Health and Rage canisters/power ups, are strewn about the city rooftops much like in Crackdown, and even make a distinct noise when you are close. You get boosts in both at 10, 30, 60, and 100 recovered. Even the stunt rings make an appearance AKA jump rings, there are 15 and the 5 I've found, unlike Crackdown, all required almost no effort or planning, to successfully, and literally, jump through the hoops.

It uses a target lock-on that is exactly like Superman and UD, and the camera feels more like Supes than CrackDown. The canisters being number at 100, reminds me of hunting for kittens in SM. Though you can see and hear the canisters much better than the mewing kittens, a small mercy.

Most of the gameplay tries to be UD, smash stuff in free roam and the strike team responds. You use subways instead of rooftop way points to quickly get around the city. Symbols on the map represent missions, goals, enemies, mini-missions, landmarks, subways, ect. Controller layout is similar and so are the combo and attack scheme. You don't get to select and purchase moves though, they are rewards, and one of several factors contributing to why I'm not enjoying this nearly as much as UD.

The destructible environment isn't nearly as satisfying as I expected. You can smash more, but it gets old fast. The graphics are Superman360 level, but yet I experienced quite a few frame rate issues. There were serious slow-downs and chop at times, and it sounded like the disc was being "furiously" accessed. The cut-scene character models are very sub-par.

In game feats are yet another area that mimics Superman more than anything else IMO.

If you haven't played Ultimate Destruction, maybe you will like this game more than I did? I don't know. But, I would recommend picking up UD for practically nothing, and playing that, before I'd recommend Incredible Hulk. You'd save time and money that way. My position on Incredible Hulk is this: It upholds the tradition of movie tie-in games being crap, and is more akin to Superman Returns, than Ultimate Destruction.

Edit: Even the jump rings, and most of the rest, could be argued to be loosely based on UD, given there were the orb power ups that required excellent jumps or the Gorilla balloon, but being a ring just screamed CrackDown to me. Same with target lock, power-ups, and so on. Elements just reminded me more of those titles, particularly Superman, than they did UD. Just wanted to qualify my remarks a bit more.

Also, The Hulk character model is definitely good, and some of the foes are fairly detailed too, but aside from that, I'll stick with the Superman360 level graphics comment.

Things I did like-

The physics are good, and provide some fun. I threw a Hulk Buster from a roof top, he flew into a skyscraper so hard, that he ping ponged all the way across the street to bounce off of another building, and then all the way across one more time, on his way to the street. The rag doll effects look cool, and are not over the top like some games, and stuff gets destroyed well when you throw something into it.

There are a bunch of unlockable character skins this time, including Maestro and Hulk buster Iron Man. The copy I picked up off of Amazon Market place, ended up being from a gamestop, with red Hulk already unlocked. The guy shipped overnight, even though I only paid $48 shipped, and used a $25 GC. I order Monday afternoon, it was here Tuesday afternoon.

yeah I can tell it's full of bugs from the vids. The budget isn't there.

too bad free radical didn't make a UD with 360 graphics :/

maybe an online mode would be awesome...

the best destruction game ever is still WAR OF THE MONSTERS or something, for ps2. That game was just plain AWESOME!
