Hey, thanks for checking and getting the information for us!
I'm glad to see that they're being responsive and seem to be taking credible and reasonable steps to
get the preorders fulfilled with G0s.
I'm kind of surprised they're trying to do it with Intel directly, but even moreso am disappointed that they
weren't honest about they dealing with and sorting their own inventory of these CPUs on a regular
basis since I asked them if they did usually physically receive/inspect them and if that was how
they'd know about the G0s arriving and be able to sort them out.
From what they said when I asked them they made it seem as if it was a simple matter of
waiting for the next shipment and them looking at the labels as they came off the truck.
If I knew it was a complicated matter for them involving 3rd parties and uncertainty about
stock versions, I wouldn't have had so much reliance and optimism about getting one soon (finally!).
I am VERY surprised their warehouse doesn't have G0s in stock (unless some OTHER
retailer they supply has been cherry-picking the G0s from their stock with special orders),
considering that they have had them in the past and lots of people from various retailers
seem to be getting at least SOME G0s mixed with B3s, so having PURE B3 in the
stock room a week after they've already started getting G0 is kind of strange.
Especially since the Q6600's are flying off the shelf and the stock of B3 has to be
getting seriously depleted now.
The timing is a bit unfortunate in that I suspect that by the time they can
special order a fresh batch from Intel the overall distribution supply will probably
be mostly G0 from most places (next week or beyond), so really it might not
be the fastest option if they DO have some arrangement with their warehouse
to ship them the G0s as they come in anyway.
Anyway before I heard the latest news I checked with a couple of
local stores and no G0s were in stock, so I guess I have little choice
but to wait for either TankGuys on the 10th, or ClubIT until who knows when,
or just roll the dice and take my chances I'd get one from ZZF or somewhere
as someone else got lucky and did.
I'll start lapping my TR120UX heatsink and wait a while I suppose.
I give ClubIt an
A for effort for even *trying* to do G0 preorders.
B for reasonable price, not the best, but far from the worst at the moment.
B for the customer service of doing the follow up call to their supplier today even though they shouldn't have gotten into the "we don't know what we have" situation in the first place.
C- for not really knowing what they've actually been selling wrt. Bamacre's G0s etc.
F for not answering questions honestly when I asked about their process and history with the G0s thus creating the confusion / false expectations.
I'd say they can redeem themselves with good follow up and quickly getting G0s shipped out, and if they don't start playing price gouging games
on the CPUs like some other places seem to be doing.

Just got the call back. Apparently they have no G0's in the warehouse and the rep was kind of confused as to how somebody got 5 of them. He did mention that their current shipments of Q6600's are being done by a third party, so they may have put in some G0's without letting ClubIT know. He also said that all of the preorders will be coming directly from Intel rather than a third party, to guarantee a shipment of only G0's. In other words, they're trying to get a shipment of only G0's (specifically for the preorders) directly from Intel, and currently in talks with them.
He told me that at the moment, there are about 50-60 preorders, of which I am number 5 or 6. He said to call back later this week as they are in talks with Intel and they plan on having them within 2 weeks (they're hoping for next week). That's a bit too long imo, so hopefully it doesn't take 2 weeks or I may end up buying it elsewhere.
There's the update on ClubIT guys. I'll give them a call again Friday afternoon and try to get another status check (I'll have them check their warehouse again too, just in case).
