Markfw900,

The Product number is: BX80562Q6600 SLACR and you can get it at ClubIT:
http://www.clubit.com/product_...l.cfm?itemno=CA1938452

No!

It is BX80562X3210SLACU.

The Q6600 is SLACR.

The X3210 is SLACU.

X3210 at:

provantage

NCIXUS

No guarantee yet of G0 though.

I've been watching the stock at provantage and they just recently sold out. makes me wonder if their next shipment might be G0's.

If anyone cares . . .

Fry's B&M in Burbank, CA and Oxnard, CA have B3's @ $289 + local sales tax. I checked on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Newegg is also out of stock of X3210/3220s with a new shipment coming on Tuesday. Maybe G0s there as well.

I'm looking forward to my Q6600 G0 from ClubIT!

Hopefully you'll all speak out when you get your systems assembled and
tell us about your Vcore/VID values, temperatures under idle/load,
stable overclock values, etc.!

I believe the X3210's are multiplier locked at a maximum CPU multiplier
of x8 which is different than the X3220/Q6600 which will do x9.

The reason that may matter is at x8 you'd be looking at around:
480x8 = 3840
474x8 = 3792
470x8 = 3760
460x8 = 3680
450x8 = 3600
440x8 = 3520
430x8 = 3440
420x8 = 3360
410x8 = 3280
400x8 = 3200
390x8 = 3120
380x8 = 3040

...so you can see you'd need pretty high clock rates to get a hopefully achievable
CPU overclock.

The problem is that many motherboards with modern chipsets CAN'T clock the RAM
at LESS than the main system clock, so your RAM would have to do e.g.
400x2 = DDR2-800 for your CPU to do 400x8=3200.

If you have RAM that's DDR2-533, DDR2-667 and doesn't overclock well, you're
probably not going to be able to reach the CPU's maximum overclock.

Some chipsets can underclock the RAM wrt. the CPU but I don't know which those
are. I've got ~ 8 GB of slower RAM that I have to use and even at CPUx9 it's
going to limit my CPU overclock unless I find a chipset that can underclock the RAM.

I gor DDR2-1000 just so I could get my 6300's to 3.5. Now maybe I can use that and get an X3210 to 3.6 or 3.7 !

I just checked ClubIT and the tracking number is on there now. Apparently they sent the order in to FedEx around 9ish on Friday, and they shipped them out on Saturday. I haven't had an update on mine since then, and currently still says that it departed at 11ish on Saturday from California. I think that means I won't be seeing my processor today...

MGM out

How does one know what stepping their new shipments are? Will they tell you over the phone? Or do you just have to wait for someone to chance buying it, and see what they get?

Same here -- mine is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. I downgraded from 2-day to free shipping last week since I'm waiting on another part.

Newegg won't tell you because they don't know. I believe TankGuys was going to do a pre-sale on the G0 x3220s once they were finished handling the Q6600 orders. I would check with them.

Pulled the trigger with ClubIT on Sunday. I called them today to see why my order wasn't shipping today, found out they are sold out of G0 Q6600's (as someone said earlier). The guy told me they might have enough to fill my order, might not, but they will be getting more in today or tomorrow. In the end, he said tomorrow is the latest they will be filling my order. 1 or 2 extra days is worth it to me for a guaranteed G0 stepping.

on this train too, pulled the trigger about 4 or 5pm on saterday, my order is listed as "Pending for Shipment" not sure if that means its just waiting for UPS To pick up, or if they are actually still checking stock to ship out.

Now to just find a great deal on an 8800 OC 320! :)

Well it sounds like your order is further along than mine is, mine is still in the "Pending For Approval" phase. Sounds like you will be seeing quad core goodness before me!

Finally, some light at the end of the tunnel. There is strong indication that we will begin filling orders around August 6th. This is not yet set in stone, but preliminary reports from one of our major suppliers says that our order has been allocated, and will be filled the first couple days of next month. While this is not yet guaranteed, all signs look good so far.

In my experience, the guy who runs TankGuys doesn't give out any information until he is very sure it is real info. So it looks like TankGuys will be getting a G0 shipment around 8/6. Should be < $300 or else all the pre order deposits will be refunded if you back out.

I *hear* Tankguys *should* have the G0's in stock to ship tomorrow.

Not the X3200 series -- these are Kentsfield quad core processors
in Socket 775 and use the same type of motherboards and therefore RAM
as a Q6600 would take.

Various other models of Xeon do take other socket types (eg S771), other RAM types,
etc.

Same here. I was pleasantly surprised to see a tracking number listed on my
ClibIt Order Invoice on their WWW site. I was more pleasantly surprised to see that
they'd actually shipped it out on Saturday the 4th and so it had made a little progress
on Saturday. Now I've seen no status updates on Fedex's site today, and their
estimated delivery date is the 8th which is believable.

Still no emails received from Clubit, though, but no big deal since at least I have
the tracking number from their web site now.

Now if I can only *find* those tubes of AS5 / Arctic Alumina I bought for my X2....

Now I have to decide whether I use the Trio-650 or Quattro-850 for this computer..
the former would suffice, the latter seems of better quality and capacity.

Then again around the end of the year I'll probably build another quad core
system with the G92 / 9800GTX GPU so maybe I should save the 850W PSU for that..
Hmm...
