Send him a private message on the forum here and I bet he'd be happy
to show off his shiny new toys or the boxes / receipt or something.

I have no reason to doubt bamacre, he said on at least 2 occasions on different
days that he'd ordered from ClubIT so I doubt there's any miscommunications.

Whereas the guy I talked to at ClubIT did seem a little initially uncertain about a
few things though when I asked explicit questions he gave me the same explicit answers
I've related and which you've just gotten them to reiterate.

Thanks swtethan!

Same here. Thanks bamacre, and congratulations on the nice CPUs!

I don't appreciate being lied to by anyone, certainly not by a vendor whose
integrity / reputation / safety I am supposed to trust with my business.

I appreciate that they are willing to guarantee G0 CPUs to us, and
I really wouldn't have had a problem if they'd said they were instituting
some steps to make sure we got them which might take a few days delay.

But to insist they NEVER have had and DO NOT have any and that they'd
KNOW if they did and would get the preorders satisfied by the FIRST AVAILABLE
G0 shipment when it's seemingly not the case is just wrong.

Now I have little choice but to question their integrity and competence
and have doubts about just HOW and WHEN the preorders would be filled.

I was certainly hoping to get them without delay but of course understood
any delay if there simply WEREN'T any available yet.

I guess I'll look around for other vendors if this isn't very promptly cleared up
such that it'd ship TODAY given that they probably have loads of them in stock
and are unwilling or too uninformed to admit that.

I don't think they suck. :D

I called them 3 days after I ordered them because they hadn't shipped, and I needed them asap. They called me back the same afternoon, they shipped them and upgraded my shipping from ground to 2-day. I'm happy.

Well they dont suck for you, but for all the people with preorders for G0s at club IT, they suck pretty damn bad.

Well, I have made some rather large orders at Clubit (I sell systems for a living), maybe they gave me preferential treatment. I know I have ordered at least half a dozen 8800 GTX cards from them, and several other items.

I'm sure you are happy with them, I would be too in your shoes!

Too bad you didn't order about 50 of them, you could have sold the 40 G0s to
the rest of us for $295. :D

Dare I ask what you're doing with 6 Q6600's anyway?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you posted that you're a system builder while I was typing that.

I was wondering if you were a mad scientist or trying to create AI or something haha.

Maybe you guys would be better off buying stock in Intel rather than their products. ;)

These things are flying off the shelves, and well above retailers' cost.

I ordered 5 more from pcsuperstore.com the other day (they haven't shipped yet :( ) but I will report what I get when they arrive. Going to call them now.

I called my local Fry's (In Sacramento) and was transfered to the Components dept, I asked if they had G0 revisions, the guy appeared to know what it was, but asked someone else who I overheard say "whats that?" about 3 times. The guy on the phone said "your the components guy you should know this" so then he called the cage and had someone get a box - I guess he was holding two phones cause I could hear him talking to the lady in the cage. He had her look up the revision number but I'm pretty sure he was expecting it to say "G0" which it does not, so he hung up with her and told me no - I tried to explain to him which revision code it should have but it seemed way over his head and there was an awkward pause which ended in "I didn't hear that"

So, I guess I'll try again later and ask for the right revision number and not "G0"

Call and ask if the last 5 digits of the PROD CODE are SLACR or SL9UM. Or ask what the PACK DATE is.

:D

Edit: PCSS won't ship my other 5 until tonight, so I won't get them until mid next week.

One of them is B3, you lose at being super elite!

Edit: Unless SL9UM is G0 as well :Q

Soooo... stupid observations...

IT looks like that b3 was manufacturered/boxed on the 11th of july, while all 4 of those g0's where done on the 12th.. You guys think its safe to assume the 11th was the last day the b3's were made? or do you think intel produces BOTH models still?

Also do you think intel would have such a stockpile of b3's that they randomly send some of those and g0's out at the same time? Judging from the fact that these were 1 day apart, it seems highly unlikely to me these came from 2 seperate shipments to this particular vendor, i assume they came in the SAME shipment. If we had to go off pure percentages i'd have to say that 20% of that shipment was b3's and 80% was g0's.... (becuase he got 1 in 5 that was a b3). If that followed suit you'd have a 80% chance to get a g0. I'm going to go out on a limb and say our chances are NOT really that good and this guy got some kind of freak accident batch, or he cleaned up all their G0 stock in one swoop!

Most likely useless information but something to ponder maybe!

Intel has more than one facility for producing Core 2 cores. It's fairly likely that they didnt all switch over on the same day.

What's also interesting, is the Batch code for the B3 is 0720- , while the G0's are 0719- .. Indicating the B3 was fabbed a week later than the G0's...

Keep in mind that ClubIT probably buys through a distributor or distributors, who have their own stockpiles of old stock. Thus, they may be sourcing shipments from a distributor's old stock, or getting fresh B3s from a plant not producing the G0 stepping, ...

It's hard to say, but the complexity of the system implies that playing the G0 lottery game with another vendor is likely to be a losing game. I don't care if ClubIT shipped a G0 before, personally, because they didn't set my expectations that they would have any to ship before August 1st. My only other legitimate option is to go with TankGuys, and I'd be lucky to get a ship date of August 10th with them.

So, ClubIT is giving me something I can't get elsewhere, and for now I'm going to give them credit for that.

Now, if another week passes and I haven't heard anything from them I will feel a bit differently.

okay so you guys suggest that a vendor/retailer might purchase stock from a few places? not just one batch from one place..

Also yes i noticed that the batch number from the b3 was NEWER than the g0's yet the package date is older.. so we should assume 2 factors having close/similar batch numbers but being a day away from each other churned these out.. Maybe FActory #1 which does b3's produces them a TAD faster than factory #2 who does g0's, so they caught up in batch numbers a day ealier hence having a 7/11 package date but having a batch number that is higher/newer than the g0's 7/12 package date.

Make sense?

I ordered 6 from Clubit. Only 5 of the 6 were SLACR, or G0. The 6th box is no longer in my possession, so it is not in the picture.

Doesn't really matter to me, as these are all going in Dell systems, i.e., no OC'ing.

I just called ClubIT and bitched about "someone" getting 6 processors and having proof that he purchased them from ClubIT. Rep said he'd email the manager of the warehouse and have him check the Q6600's for me. He said he'd call back today, likely within an hour. I'll let you guys know what he finds. If bamacre really did receive 5 G0's then I'm sure they have plenty more sitting in their warehouse, and if so, I'm going to demand to have mine shipped asap.
