Here's a new one for me. We invited my Mother in law to diner Yesterday. She was supposed to be here about 4. When she hadn't shown up by 5 my wife called her. She though it was 3 pm, because she set her clock back, not forward...

How does she have a phone that doesn't auto-update the time?

How nice, it's just about 6pm and still light out. I can walk my dog after work and not feel like I missed the whole damn day just getting ready for work and working.

They way it should be.

Dad?!? Is that you?!??
Nope. No kids here except for a 3 year old fur baby, Red Nose American Pit Bull Terrier w/ Boxer named Jack. I've gone 40 years without a real offspring and I think it's gonna stay that way.

I am without children also, and that’s not changing. My dad is dead, and he loved his VCR. My sister took his collection of tapes. We were all going to watch them but never did. That was almost 15 years ago.

I lost my dad in 2015 and my mom in 2018. I got their movie collection of VHS, DVD, and Blu-rays. Among other items that neither of my sister's could take because they didn't own a house big enough to store much of anything besides their own stuff.

I still say Radio (AM and FM) is the one technology that most if not all of us still take for granted.

Can I take it for granted when I haven't used it in 15+ years?

I think the better question is why are you using a VCR in 2023?!!?

I just checked the torrent sites. Its only 480p. If anybody ever scanned it in HD, they did not distribute it.

Not sure why Congress can't make DST permanent. A bill making it permanent passed in the Senate so it obviously has bipartisan support.

Everybody "thought" this was a done deal after the media gave the impression that it was. BAD MEDIA.... The plan was to make DST permanent, thus adding an hour of daylight. All congress need do is follow-up and get this done by November 5th, then we won't need to mess with setting clocks next November. And yet, we all know it will never happen. If there's not money in it for MTG, the house will never agree. And as George Santos stated, I invented time. Then we have Bernie Sanders saying he doesn't give a crap about the DST issue. Sounds like we need new younger blood in congress and get rid of the old fart DST lovers.
