I have no history of seizures nor is it part of my family history.

Does anyone have any similar experiences they can share and how they were resolved.

My roommate in college just started having Grand Mal seizures one day. He came home all disoriented and post-ictal after he had his first seizure. I was the only one home and he asked if I had a bandaid for his chin...except that his chin was essentially hanging off his face from hitting the concrete.

Considering his injury plus the fact that he was obviously "not with it", I took him to the ER. When he couldn't explain what had happened, they ran scans and tests and whatnot, and eventually determined he'd developed a seizure disorder. He's adopted though, so his family history is unknown.

I don't know if he's on anti-seizure meds for the rest of his life now, but it's definitely something he has to deal with. He takes care not to become too stressed out or exhausted, which triggers the seizures. He did wreck once because of a seizure and his DL was revoked for, I think, a year.

I hope everything works out, OP.

They did all the normal blood tests as well and they didn't turn up anything.

I had my spinal tap a few hours ago but I guess it takes a while for the results to come back. Hopefully the tests show something bit I doubt they will.

I'm not on any other meds so it wouldn't be from that.

I was sitting at my computer the other night when I fell out of my chair and had a seizure. My wife called 911 and I was taken to the er where I was admitted.
So far they have done 2 mris 2 cts and an EEG. Right now I am waiting for a spinal tap so they can check for an infection or something. If nothing comes from that they will have to do a brain biopsy on one of spots they found on my MRI. I have no history of seizures nor is it part of my family history.

My best guess is they will find nothing conclusive and I will be on seizure meds for the rest of my life.

I wonder what the bill would be if I didn't have insurance.

here's to hoping they find a benign, operable tumor

good luck, man.

No news yet but I'm starting to suspect I have brain cancer or at least a beign tumor. That would explain the seizure, the spots on my MRI and random nausea I've had for the last few months. I thought the nausea was stress induced since I was getting married soon. Now I'm not too sure but there isn't much I can do now except wait for the test results.

That's why I said what I said. Good luck, man.

Still in the hospital. Tomorrow will find out if I have cancer. But the doc did mention lupus and I almost laughed. Thanks.

Add brain surgery to my list. Will take a couple days to process the biopsy though. At least I didn't die from the surgery (1% do)

I hope they find a diagnosis for you! A friend is going through the same thing, no luck for her yet. They've cut off her driving until she's clear for a period of time or until they find the cause. It hit her about two days before she started a new job at Amazon. 🙁

Fuck dude...this sucks. We've been through the "brain cancer" routine. My FiL had been hurt in a construction accident when his bulldozer cut through a buried 500 gallon propane tank...shouldn't have been there, company denied any knowledge of it...even though it had been filled the week before...he was severely burned in the accident, and during the time in the burn center, he started having "seizures" that couldn't be explained...they found three spots of brain cancer, all smaller than the head of a pin...and all non-operable. (he had run an overhead crane in the stainless steel fab shop for almost a year...constantly working in the "orange cloud" of smoke put off by the plasma cutters...high chromium levels)
In spite of the chemo and radiation, he died about 7 months after it was first diagnosed.

Here's hoping your prognosis is MUCH better.
