In-N-Out sucks ass

Is In-N-Out the best burger ever? Probably not... but it's certainly delicious.
Is In-N-Out the best burger place? I'd say so.

Their burgers are perfect for what they are. A simple unassuming burger made from fresh ingredients. There is a small degree of taste... sometimes they're a little worse than others, but consistently everytime I get a cheese burger or a double double I get the same burger over and over again and it is delicious. There is no ambiguity about what you get with an In-N-Out burger. It's a burger I like so I have no issue with this. IF you don't like their burgers you'll probably never like their burgers unless your tastes change (or you acquire a soul...)

I think the fresh taste is one of their greatest assets. But if you think the flavor is bland then black pepper is what I'll add, the more the better. If I'm at home, a little Tabasco sauce makes the burger just the right kinda kick too. They give out free hot peppers too (which is the most hit or miss thing about innout in my opnion since soemtimes they burn like fire and other times they taste like plastic).

I'll say I can see why people don't like their french fries. I've never been to partial to them since I prefer steak fries, but I don't hate them. I don't really like them well done and Animal Style is pretty good.

Sometimes you want that greasy double bacon ultimate cheeseburger and you'll get it. But all other factors being equal, I'd rank In-N-Out with the best of them.

Yeah man. McD burgers are the definition of disgusting, even their 'premium' ones. Their fries come directly from god though.

Couter is a rip off exactly how? I have had a burger at almost every restruant in LA/OC/IE/SD. That might be an exaggeration. But I have had burgers at probably a hundred different places over the years. Dollar for dollar Counter is really no more pricey than any other gourmet burger place. And tastes far better than anything I've had anywhere. Fathers Office isn't exactly cheap, and isn't as good.

Counter > Fuddruckers > Cheburger Cheburger. None are cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Well, it's a bit of a trip for you, but I'm pretty sure a double Kong burger (2x1/2lb patties) runs less than $12 and is damn tasty. Man, I haven't had one of those in forever... I might have to do it tomorrow.

Burgers aren't healthy, well they're not supposed to be. When I'm eating one the only 3 factors are

1. taste
2. toppings
3. price (in that order)

Counter tastes 10 times better than a burger from Dennys, and Dennys isn't even any cheaper. I could write a book on burgers. as I've ate about 10 or so a week
for the past ummm, 15 years. If you use my 3 factors to equate the best burger for the buck, Counter comes out ahead. People who find a HUGE $10 gourmet burger too expensive should probably stick to Mcdonalds dollar value menu. I personally will spend a buck more to get better quality and great taste, but that's just me xD

Hmm, next time I'm in Sacramento I'll have to try out Squeeze Inn...I've never been there before.

In & Out is OK. Under $5 with fries and a drink, it's really hard to beat. Sure there are plenty of burger joints that would wipe the floor with In & Out, but when picking between In & Out and any other fast food place, I'm sure a majority would choose In & Out (assuming they know what it is).

I can't tell you how many people's cook-outs I've been to with sub par burgers. Not everyone can make and properly cook a good burger.

The Counter at the Row for 1/3 lb runs $8.50 & Fries are $3.50. Yes, its good but not 3X better than a In-N-Out Double Double & Fries. At $12 its a almost 50% more expensive than a comparable gourmet Red Robin burger. And since I'm a fan of the $6 burgers at Carls Jr, its a full 100% more expensive.

A fountain drink is also $2.50 at the Counter - seriously and I have to get my own refills?

If I built my favorite "fast food" bacon guacamole pepper-jack $6 burger at Carls Jr the price at the Counter would increase as bacon is an additional $1 topping and guacamole is another $1.

When we remove "fast-food" from the burger equation and go to Restaruant burgers like the Counter than we open up a whole other level. Sign me up for a Red Robin burger, bottom less fries with special seasoning along with thier onion ring sauce to dip and I'm still out for under the price of the Counter with tax & tip and I've also been waited on.


Good burgers at the counter - aboslutely! But damn spendy.

Best burger in the world, you're missing out man. I've had every place people rave about, many are great but the greatest is here. And their selection of toppings is mid-fucking-blowing. 10 kinds of cheese alone. A 1/3lb with a fried egg + American Cheese + Applewood smoked Bacon, on an English Muffin might be one of the greatest burgers ever. They also have the best fries I've ever eaten. I've gone there numerous times just to get a big ass order of fries and some Garlic Aeoli sauce to dip them in.

innout has always been appealing to me primarily for its flavor.
chain burger places are the ones that lack flavor. get the sirloin burger form jackinthebox or the 6-dollar burger from carl's, and the patties taste like they were boiled in water - absolutely flavorless. innout's patties are so perfectly seasoned or something. the flavor is so appetizing. innout is the only place that makes me more hungry after i finish the first burger.

other places that are good are the run down diners in so cal that usually serves mexican dishes, pastrami burgers, steaks, and sandwiches.
