Congrats Donnie.
Regardless, the house just impeached Donald Trump for a second time and now it appears the inauguration may need to be altered into a secure location. Several in congress are now saying they are worried about attending the event with their families as an educational experience or attending at all.
While you're correct that it's not likely, do compare and contrast the vote totals in the House and Senate for certifying the presidential election. (e.g. the vote on the objection to the PA votes failed 138/282 in the House and 7/92 in the Senate. There are simply more nutjobs in the House.)Based on House vote does not appear Senate voting to remove him will happen.
House members tend to be more afraid of being primaried by someone even nuttier than they are. Its the problem with so many very safe districts due to gerrymandering. The biggest threat to your seat in the house is from the base of the party. While you're correct that it's not likely, do compare and contrast the vote totals in the House and Senate for certifying the presidential election.
Wouldn't have no matter what since the trial will be after he's out of office. What the GOP can do is use it as a lever to wedge him out of the party and removed from the next 4 years of campaigning.Based on House vote does not appear Senate voting to remove him will happen.
Plus it looks like Mitch wants it done. While you're correct that it's not likely, do compare and contrast the vote totals in the House and Senate for certifying the presidential election. Yeah, I'm *all* for having his eligibility for office stripped for good and sufficient reason, but even if the Senate trial fizzles out - he'll hopefully be facing jail time or have fled the country.Lets hope the Senate prevents him from running in 2024. Although what happens when he leaves office might do that also.
It matters because the obvious goal here is to permanently bar him from holding federal office. The secondary goal was to get his term to end ASAP, but everybody knew that was at best a longshot.Wouldn't have no matter what since the trial will be after he's out of office. What the GOP can do is use it as a lever to wedge him out of the party and removed from the next 4 years of campaigning.

Someone should call Donnie and congratulate him on winning the popular vote....for his second impeachment!
If the articles are there the Senate can vote for him never being able to hold public office again.Wouldn't have no matter what since the trial will be after he's out of office. What the GOP can do is use it as a lever to wedge him out of the party and removed from the next 4 years of campaigning.
I'm catching bits and pieces of speakers in the background.
It appears to be the running themes of Republicans are
WhataboutAntifa? WhataboutThaBlacks? YouCantAcceptThe2016Election!!!
I'm guessing that as soon as this quiets down, they are going to be complaining about why no one is investigating Hunter Biden and that investigations into Republican involvement in the form of a sitting congressmen and senators providing material support to those that trying to take the capital is political theater or or something.
That and Foxnew has posted lots of glowing yelp reviews of Trump's wall
